Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  5. Tap Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth.
  6. On the other device, turn on Bluetooth and make it discoverable.
  7. Tap Scan devices.
  8. On the Bluetooth devices list, tap the device for pairing.
  9. If prompted, enter a PIN or password.
  10. Tap OK.
  11. On the other device, accept the pairing.

 

 

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the status bar down.
  2. Touch Bluetooth to disable.

Network

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. If you have a battery saver app, check its settings. Some battery saver apps disable the APNs or data connection when the battery level gets low. You need to adjust these settings or uninstall the app to keep the data connection working
  2. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  3. Touch Settings.
  4. Touch Wireless & networks. Depends on software versionNote: This varies on different software versions.
    • Android 1.6: Wireless Controls.
    • Garminfone: Wireless Manager.
    • Behold II: Phone Information.
    • Android 4.1 (Samsung): Connections tab then tap More networks.
  5. Verify that the Airplane Mode or Flight Mode check box is cleared.
  6. If you see a Mobile Network check box, verify it is selected.
  7. Touch Mobile Networks.
  8. If you see the following check boxes, verify they are selected:
    • Data Enabled
    • Use Packet Data
    • Data Roaming This will incur charges if you roam internationally, but it is required to receive data when roaming domestically.
  9. Touch Access Point Names or APNs.
  10. If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Menu key, and then tap New APN.
    Note: To reset your APN settings, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
  11. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  12. Tap the Menu key.
  13. Tap Save.
  14. Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search now.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired network.
  8. If prompted, tap OK to disable data services and continue search.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network Mode.
  6. Tap GSM Only.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. To turn airplane mode on or off, follow these steps:
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Wireless and network.
  5. Tap Flight mode to enable or disable wireless services.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data roaming to connect or disconnect data services

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  6. Tap Forget.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap Wi-Fi to turn on and view Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. Scroll to and tap the network you want to connect to.
  9. If security is enabled, enter the password.
  10. Tap Connect.
