Backlight

Brightness

To make the screen backlight brighter or darker, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, press Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Display settings.
  4. Scroll to and select Brightness control.
  5. Press the Left or Right Navigation keys to change the brightness.
  6. Select Save

 

 

Timeout

To change the time before the backlight times out, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, press Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Display settings.
  4. Scroll to and select Backlight.
  5. At On, press the Left or Right Navigation keys to change how long the  screen stays fully lit without dimming.
  6. Scroll to and select one of the following:
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 3 minutes
    • 10 minutes
  7. Scroll down to Dim and press the Left or Right  Navigation keys to  change how long the screen stays partially lit (dimmed) before going completely  dark.
  8. Scroll to and select one of the following: 
    • Off
    • 5 seconds
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 3 minutes
  9. Select Save.

Home screen wallpaper

To change the Home screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Display settings.
  4. Select Wallpaper.
  5. Select the desired option:
    • Default wallpapers
      1.  Press the Navigation key right to scroll through the wallpapers.
      2.  Select Save.
    • Photos
      1.  Scroll to the desired photo.
      2.  Select Options.
      3.  Select Save.
    • Downloaded images
      1.  Scroll to and select the image.
      2.  Select Save.

 

 

Lock screen wallpaper

To change the lock screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:

Enter symbols & numbers

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

Insert the  +

  • To add a + (plus) to a phone number, press and hold the  0 (zero) key.
  • To add a + (plus) to a text message, at the text entry screen,  press and hold the * (star) key to display a list of symbols.  Scroll to the menu and type the number associated with the + (plus) sign, and then select OK.

Insert the @

  • In ABC mode, quickly press the 1 (one) key two times.
  • In T9 mode, press the 1 (one) key and then press the  * (star) key until the @ symbol displays.
  • Insert period (.)
  • In ABC or T9® mode, press the 1 (one) key  once.

Insert dash

  • In ABC mode, quickly press the 1 (one) key four times.    
    • In T9 mode, press the 1 (one) key and then press the  * (star) key until the dash symbol displays

 

 

Text entry mode

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

  • ABC mode allows you to type letters by pressing the key labeled with  the letter you want until the correct letter displays. For example, if you want  to type "a," you press the 2 key once. If you want to type "b," you press  the 2 key twice.
  • T9® mode allows you to type words with only one keystroke per letter,  and the phone interprets what word you want. For example, to type "the,"  you press 8, 4, 3.
  • Number mode allows you to type numbers.
  • Symbol mode allows you to insert symbols.

Perform the  following to choose text entry mode:

 

When available, text entry icons  will appear above the right soft key. Press the right soft key  until you see the icon for the text entry method you want to use.
