Phone gets warm: Nokia Lumia 925

Troubleshoot or learn more about the phone getting warm when in use or the battery life being shorter than expected.  When it gets too hot, the phone might lower display brightness, slow data connection speed, pause charging, close applications in the background, or turn off. The Lumia 925 has a built-in thermal control system to monitor and control the phone temperature, which is common to high-end smartphones. To prevent overheating, the phone might lower display brightness, slow data connection speed, pause charging, or close applications in the background. In rare cases, the device may turn off.

 

To fix this issue:

  1. Confirm your device is on the latest software. If not, complete the software update.
  2. Return to the Home screen if you are using HERE Maps, HERE Drive, or other apps.
  3. Turn off unneeded applications running in the background:
    1. From the Home screen, swipe left to Applications.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Swipe left to Applications settings.
    4. Tap Background Tasks.
  4. Turn off Glance touch with the following steps:
    1. From the Home screen, swipe left to Applications.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Glance.
    4. Tap Glance Screen to turn it off.
  5. Turn off double tap to wake up phone with the following steps:
    1. From the Home screen, swipe left to Applications.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Touch.
    4. Tap the slider to turn off Double tap to wake up phone.
  6. Turn on battery saver with the following steps:
    1. From the Home screen, swipe left to Applications.
    2. Tap Settings..
    3. Tap Battery saver.
    4. Tap the slider to turn on Battery Saver.
