Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  5. Tap Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth.
  6. Onthe other device, turn on Bluetooth and make it discoverable.
  7. Tap Scan devices.
  8. Onthe Bluetooth devices list, tap the device for pairing.
  9. If prompted, enter the password.
  10. Note: The default password is 1234.
  11. TapOK.
  12. Tap Pair.
  13. On the other device, accept the pairing.

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  5. Tap Bluetooth to turn off Bluetooth.

Turn on / off GPS

To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Location and security.
  4. Tap Use GPS satellites to enable or disable GPS.

Network

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless & networks
  4. Turn off Airplane Mode or Flight Mode
  5. Tun on Mobile Network (if available)
  6. Touch Mobile Networks.
  7. If you see the following check boxes, turn them on:
    • Use Packet Data
    • Data Roaming
    • If the customer is roaming off the T-Mobile Network; turn on Data Roaming This will incur charges if you roam internationally, but it is required to receive data when roaming domestically.
  8. Touch Access Point Names or APNs.
  9. If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Menu key, and then tap New APN.
    Note: To reset your APN settings, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
  10. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  11. Tap the Menu key.
  12. Tap Save.
  13. Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

 

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search now.
  7. If prompted, tap OK to disconnect data services.
  8. Scroll to and tap the desired network.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network Mode.
  6. Tap WCDMA only to use a 3G / 4G connection only.
  7. Tap GSM only to use a 2G connection only.
  8. Tap GSM / WCDMA (Auto mode) to use a 4G connection when available.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. Tap Flight mode to turn on or off.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search now.
  7. If prompted, tap OK to disconnect data services.
  8. Scroll to and tap the desired network.

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap Wi-Fi to turn on and scan for Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  7. Tap Forget.
    • Note: If the Wi-Fi network is still in-range, the device will still show it in the list of available networks, however the connection configuration will be deleted.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap to select the Wi-Fi check box to turn on Wi-Fi.
  6. Tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. Tap the network you want to connect to.
  9. If security is enabled, enter the password.
  10. Tap Connect.

 

 

Turn on / off Wi-Fi

To turn on or turn off Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the status bar down.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi icon to enable or disable. OR From any Home screen, tap the Menu sk4Gmenu.png key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Wireless and network.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  6. Tap to select or clear the Wi-Fi check box to enable or disable.

 

 

Wi-Fi indicators

To determine when you have an active Wi-Fi connection, refer to these icons:

Wi-Fi is connected, active, and communicating with a  Wireless Access Point (WAP).

Wi-Fi is active but there is no signal or another issue is  preventing communication.
