Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  3. Scroll to and select the Bluetooth check box to turn on.
  4. Scroll to and select Bluetooth Connections.
  5. Scroll to and select Add New Device.
  6. If prompted,select OK.
  7. Edit the device name, if desired.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Select Search.
  10. Scroll to and select a device.
  11. If required, enter the passkey for the Bluetooth device.
  12. Note: The default passkey is four zeros (0000).
  13. On your device, scroll to and select Yes.
  14. On the other device, select Pair or the equivalent option required to pair the devices.

 

 

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  3. Scroll to and select the Bluetooth check box to turn on or off.

GPS

Turn on / off GPS

To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Options.
  3. Scroll to and select Device.
  4. Scroll to and select Location Settings.
  5. Scroll to and select the Location Services drop-down menu.
  6. Scroll to and select Location On or Location Off.
  7. Press the Menu key.
  8. Select Save.

Network

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Options.
  3. Scroll to and select Device.
  4. Scroll to and select Advanced System Settings.
  5. Scroll to and select TCP IP.
  6. Verify APN Settings Enabled is checked.
  7. In the APN field, enter epc.t-mobile.com.
  8. Verify APN Authentication Enable is unchecked.
  9. Press the Menu key.
  10. Scroll to and select Save.

 

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Options.
  3. Scroll to and select Networks and Connections.
  4. Select Mobile Network.
  5. Scroll to and select the Network Selection Mode drop-down menu.
  6. Scroll to and select Manual.
  7. Scroll to and select the desired network.
  8. Select Select Network.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Options.
  3. Scroll to and select Networks and Connections.
  4. Scroll to and select Mobile Network.
  5. Next to Network modes, press the track pad and select 3G & 2G or 2G.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  3. Scroll to Mobile Network.
  4. Select to and select Turn All Connections Off.
    • Note: To turn airplane mode off, select Turn All Connections On or check the desired network to turn on.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Options.
  3. Scroll to and select Networks and Connections.
  4. Select Mobile Network.
  5. Under Data Services, scroll to and select the While Roaming drop-down menu.
  6. Scroll to and select one of the following options:
    • On
    • Off
    • Prompt

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  3. Scroll to and select Setup Wi-Fi Network.
  4. Scroll to and select Saved Wi-Fi Networks.
  5. Scroll to the network that you added manually.
  6. Press the Menu key.
  7. Scroll to and select Delete.
  8. Scroll to and select OK to confirm.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. How to scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks
  2. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  3. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  4. Scroll to and select Set Up Wi-Fi Network.
  5. If prompted, scroll to and select Turn on Wi-Fi.
  6. Scroll to and select the desired network.
  7. If required, enter a key or passphrase.
  8. Scroll to and select Connect.

 

 

Turn on / off Wi-Fi

To turn on or turn off Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
    • On device software version 6.0, select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
  3. Scroll to and select or clear the Wi-Fi check box.

To determine when you have an active Wi-Fi connection, refer to these icons:
