Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the MenuMenu_key.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.

  5. Tap Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth.

 

 

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the MenuMenu_key.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.

  5. Tap Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth.
  6. On the other device, turn on Bluetooth and make it discoverable.
  7. Tap Scan for devices.
  8. On the Bluetooth devices list, tap the device for pairing.
  9. If prompted, enter the password.
    Note: The default password is 1234.
  10. Tap OK.
  11. Tap Pair.
  12. On the other device, accept the pairing.

GPS

Turn on / off GPS

To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Applications.
  2. On the second Application panel, tap Maps.
  3. If necessary, tap OK.
  4. If necessary, tap Accept to accept terms and conditions.
  5. Tap the Menu“Menu_key.png” key.
  6. Tap Search.
  7. Enter the desired text or tap to select from recent searches.
  8. Tap Search.

Network

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless & networks. Depends on software version
  4. If there is a T-Mobile APN, touch it. If not, press the Menu key, and touch New APN.
  5. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile
    • APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not Set> OR Internet+MMS (depending on software version)
  6. Press the Menu key.
  7. Touch Save.
  8. In the list of APNs, delete all others that may appear. If there is a FOTA APN, you may leave that one. To do this:
    1. Touch the APN you want to delete.
    2. Press the Menu key.
    3. Touch Delete APN.
  9. Verify that there is a circle next to the one remaining APN to show it is activated.
  10. Perform a soft reset.
  11. Test your data connection, by accessing a web page or sending a picture message (MMS) to yourself.

 

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu Menu_key.pngkey.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search now.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired network.
  8. If prompted, tap OK to disable data services and continue search.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, press Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Wireless and networks.
  4. Scroll to and select Mobile networks.
  5. Scroll to and select Network Modes.
  6. Check or uncheck use 2g only.
    • You can also choose GSM/WCDMA

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu Menu_key.pngkey.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Flight mode to turn on or turn off wireless services.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu Menu_key.pngkey.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data roaming to connect or disconnect data services

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu“Menu_key.png” key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  6. Tap Forget.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu“Menu_key.png” key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap Wi-Fi to turn on and view Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Tap the Menu“Menu_key.png” key.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect.
  9. If security is enabled, enter the key or wireless password.
  10. Tap Connect.
