Set up

 

Register the 911 address

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register your 911 address at my.t-mobile.com. If you do not, you may see a REG09 error. To learn how to register your 911 address, see: 911 addresses: My T-Mobile.

 

 

Set phone to use Wi-Fi or mobile networks

To set the connection preference for the phone to use Wi-Fi calling or mobile networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and network.
  4. Tap More.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi Calling settings.
  6. Tap Connection Preferences.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred: All calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, then calls are made over the cellular network.
    • Cellular Preferred: All calls are made over the cellular network. If the cellular network is not available, then calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network.
    • Wi-Fi Only: All calls are made over a Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, calls will not connect.

 

 

Turn on and connect

 

Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to network

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network. To turn on Wi-Fi and connect, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under Wireless and network, tap the Wi-Fi box to turn on and enable.
  4. Tap to select the desired network.
  5. Enter the password, if necessary.
  6. Tap Connect.

 

 

Turn on Wi-Fi calling

To turn on Wi-Fi calling, follow these steps:

 

  1. If this is the first time you are using Wi-Fi calling, start with registering your 911 address and connection preference (above).
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network.
  3. From any Home screen, touch and slide the Status bar down to open the Notification screen and tap Wi-Fi to enable, if necessary.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Under Wireless and network, tap More.
  6. Tap to select or clear the Wi-Fi Calling check box to turn enable or disable Wi-Fi Calling.
