Manage memory

To manage the internal memory, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. Touch Restart (if available) or Power Off.
  3. If necessary, press the Power key to turn the device back on.

  3. Select Personalize.
  4. Scroll to and select Memory settings.

  7. Scroll to and select folder to view phone memory.

Manage storage

To manage the internal storage space, follow these steps:

 

  1. Clear the browser cache, cookies, or history.
  2. Delete the call logs.
  3. Delete unnecessary text messages (SMS) and picture messages (MMS).
  4. Transfer pictures and media to a computer, and remove it from the phone memory.

 

 

View free storage space

To view the amount of free internal storage, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Personalize.
  4. Scroll to and select Memory settings.
  5. Scroll to and select Memory status.
  6. Scroll to and select Media.
  7. Scroll to and select folder to view phone memory.

SD card

Format SD card

Formatting the SD card deletes all data on it. You may wish to format the SD card if you want to delete the files, if files or apps on the SD card are not working, or if the SD card is not working.

 

To format the SD card while inserted in the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up data on the storage or SD card, if desired.
  2. Plug the device into a computer with a USB cable.
  3. From the Notification bar, verify that Disk Drive or Mass Storage mode are selected.

  4. On the computer Start menu, navigate to Computer or My Computer.
  5. Find the Removable disk located under devices with removable storage.

  6. Right-click the removable disk.
  7. Click Format.

  8. Verify the file system is set at FAT32 and Quick Format is selected.

  9. Click Start.
  10. Wait a few minutes for the computer to format the SD card.
    Note: If errors appear during this process, the SD card is likely defective.

 

 

Insert / remove SD card

To insert or remove the SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Swing open the memory card slot cover on the left side of the phone.
  2. Turn the memory card over so the contacts are facing down.
  3. Insert the card by pushing it into the slot until it clicks.

      OR
  4. Remove the card by pushing it until it releases, then pull the card from the slot.
  5. Replace the cover over the slot and snap it into place.

 

 

Open or delete files using a computer

To open or delete files on the SD card using a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen on the phone, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Personalize.
  4. Scroll to and select Phone settings.
  5. Scroll to and select USB Mode.
  6. Scroll to and select Mass storage.
  7. Connect the included USB cord to the phone first, then to your computer.

  8. On your computer, a Portable Device window will appear. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

  9. Click OK.
  10. On the computer, double click the folder in the phone’s drive to access your files.
  11. Right click the file you want to delete and select Delete.
  12. Select Yes.
  13. When you are finished, click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the lower right-hand corner of your computer screen.
  14. Click Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device.

 

 

Open or delete files using the device

To open or delete files on the SD card using the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Media.
  3. Scroll right to access files on the memory card.
  4. Scroll down and select folder or file.
  5. Scroll to the file and select Options.
  6. Scroll to and select Delete.
  7. Choose Selected, Multiple, or All.
  8. Select Yes.

 

 

Set default memory storage

By default, the device stores data on the [SD card or internal storage]. To set the default memory storage to another location, follow these steps:

Transfer files between computer & SD card

To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen on the phone, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Personalize.
  4. Scroll to and select Phone settings.
  5. Scroll to and select USB Mode.
  6. Scroll to and select Mass storage.
  7. Connect the included USB cord to the phone first, then to your computer.

  8. On your computer, a Portable Device window will appear. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

  10. On the computer, double click the folder in the phone’s drive to access your files.
  11. Drag and drop the file from your computer into the memory card folder.
  12. When you are finished, click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the lower right-hand corner of your computer screen.
  13. Click Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device.

To transfer files and pictures between the internal storage and SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Media.
  3. Scroll down to access files on the phone’s memory.
  4. Scroll down and select folder or file.
  5. Scroll to the file and select Options.
  6. Scroll to and select Move or Copy.
  7. Choose Selected or Multiple.
    • If you select Multiple, checkmark the desired files and select Move or Copy.
  8. Select Memory card.
  9. Select OK.

 

 

View free SD card space

To view the amount of free SD card storage, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the main screen, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Personalize.
  4. Scroll to and select Memory settings.
  5. Scroll to and select Memory card settings.
  6. Select Memory card details.
