Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, Tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and Networks.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  5. Make sure Bluetooth is checked.
  6. Make sure that the device your are pairing with is in "Pairing Mode"
  7. Tap Scan devices.
  8. Tap the device you wish to pair with.
  9. Tap Accept on the Bluetooth pairing request.

 

 

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, Tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and Networks.
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  5. Check or uncheck Bluetooth to turn on or turn off Bluetooth.

GPS

Turn on / off GPS

To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the Status bar down to open the Notification screen.
  2. Tap the GPS icon to turn it on. The icon turns green.

To turn off GPS, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the Status bar down to open the Notification screen.
  2. Tap the GPS icon to turn it off. The icon turns gray.

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless & networks.
  4. Touch Mobile Networks.
  5. Touch Access Point Names or APNs.
  6. If there is a T-Mobile APN, touch it. If not, press the Menu key, and touch New APN.
  7. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile
    • APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
    • Proxy: <Not set>
      • You can also set: 216.155.165.050
    • Port: <Not set>
      • You can also set: 8080
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
      • You can also set: 216.155.165.050
    • MMS port: <Not set>
      • You can also set: 8080
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS

 

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search now.
  7. If prompted, tap OK to disable data services and continue search.
  8. Scroll to and tap the network you want to use.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless Networks.
  4. Tap Mobile Networks.
  5. Tap Use Only 2G.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap the Flight mode check box to select (turn on) or clear (turn off).

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap the Data roaming check box to select (turn on) or clear (turn off).

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap the Wi-Fi check box to select (turn on) and view Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  7. Tap Forget network.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap the Wi-Fi check box to select (turn on) and view Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect.
  9. If security is enabled, enter the key or wireless password.
  10. Tap Connect.
