Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Lift and remove the back cover.

  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner of the SIM facing out of the slot.

  4. Replace the battery.

Delete SIM messages

To delete all SIM messages, follow these steps:

 

  1. On the Home screen, click the Messages icon.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Scroll to and tap Options.
  4. Uncheck the Leave Messages On SIM Card checkbox.
    • Note: This will delete all text messages on your SIM card.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Scroll to and tap Save.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. Use one of the following methods to unlock your device:

 

Method 1

  1. Insert a Non T-Mobile SIM & turn Device on.
  2. The Device will automatically prompt ask you if you would like to unlock the device.
  3. Select Yes.
  4. Using the key pad to input the Unlock Code provided by T-Mobile.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. The unlock code screen will disappear if the phone was unlock successfully.


Method 2

  1. Ensure that your blocked SIM card is inserted in the phone.
  2. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  3. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Manage Connections icon.
  4. Tap All Off.
  5. Press the End key to return to the Home screen.
  6. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  7. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Options icon.
  8. Tap Device.
  9. Scroll to and tap Advanced System Settings.
  10. Tap SIM Card.
  11. Enter MEPD (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
  12. Hold Alt and enter MEP2 (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
  13. When prompted, enter the MEP2 code and press the trackpad.
  14. Confirm that a “Code Accepted” message is displayed.
  15. If you also have an MEP4 code, enter MEP4, and then when prompted enter the MEP4 code and confirm that a“Code Accepted” message is displayed.
  16. Turn off the phone.
  17. Turn on the phone.
