Text to speech

Set up & turn on

To set up and use text to speech (TalkBack), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All apps AllAppsicon.jpg icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Language & input.
  4. Tap Text-to-speech output.
  5. Tap the Settings icon to modify settings as desired.
  6. Touch the Home key.
  7. From any Home screen, tap the All apps  icon.
  8. Tap Settings.
  9. Tap Accessibility.
  10. Tap TalkBack.
  11. Tap the the TalkBack slider to turn off or on.

 

 

Settings

Text to speech (TalkBack) reads messages out loud, allowing you to listen to text or messages instead of reading them. To change text to speech settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All apps AllAppsicon.jpg icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accessibility.
  4. Tap TalkBack.
  5. Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Tap to adjust the desired speech and feedback settings.
