Mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi

Set up mobile hotspot

To set up or configure a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
  5. If necessary, view the information about the portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and tap OK.
  6. If desired, enter a new Router Name (SSID).
  7. If desired, tap the security drop-down box and select from the following options:
    • None
    • WEP (128)
    • WPA (TKIP)
    • WPA2 (AES)
  8. If desired, enter a new password.
  9. When finished, tap the Back key.

 

 

Turn on/off mobile hotspot

To turn on or turn off a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menu.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
    Note: Your tablet starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name(SSID) so you can connect to it with up to five other devices. Your tablet’s default SSID is HTC Flyer P510e, and the default password is 1234567890.

Tethering via USB

To share your mobile data connection with a computer over a USB cable, follow these steps:

 

  1. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the USB/charging port on your tablet.
  2. Plug the large end of the USB cable into the USB port of your computer.
  3. On your tablet, a Choosea connection type message appears.
  4. Tap USB Tethering.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. On the tablet, from any Home screen, tap the Menu menu.png key.
  7. Tap Settings.
  8. Scroll to and tap Wireless & networks.
  9. Scroll to and tap USB tethering setting.
  10. Select one of the following options:
  11. Windows
  12. Mac OS X
  13. If necessary, scroll to and tap USB tethering to select (enable) the check box.
