Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Place your fingernail in the notch on the top of your phone and pull out to detach the back battery cover.
    Important: Do NOT remove the lower portion of the back cover. Removal will damage your phone and void the warranty.

  2. Gently slide the SIM card in or out of the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing out.

  3. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the gold contacts in the battery compartment and gently press into place.

  4. Replace the back battery cover.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. From the Start screen, tap the T-Mobile tile.
  4. Tap the Keypad icon.
  5. Verify the IMEI by entering *#06#.
  6. Contact Customer Care to request your unlock code.
  7. Turn on the phone with the non-T-Mobile SIM card. The device displays 'Please input unlock code'..
  8. Enter the unlock code. If successful, the device displays 'Phone is unlocked'.
