Data usage

Data usage indicator

To turn on, set, or turn off the data usage indicator, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data Usage.
  4. If desired, tap Data usage cycle to change the cycle the graph will display usage for.
  5. From the graph, touch and drag the vertical white bars to set a beginning and end time period for which to check your data usage.
    • Note: Below the graph, the dates selected will change when the bars are adjusted.
  6. Below the graph, view the about used data usage value.
  7. Swipe up to view a list of all of your phone’s application data usage from largest usage at top to smallest usage at bottom for the time period.

 

 

View data use by app

To view how much data certain apps are using, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Application manager.
  4. Tap All.
  5. Tap on desired application.
  6. Data usage will be available under Storage.

Internet browser

Browser cache

To clear the mobile browser cache, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Application.
  2. Tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Privacy and security.
  6. Tap Clear cache.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Browser cookies

To clear the mobile browser cookies, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Application.
  2. Tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Privacy and security.
  6. Tap Clear all cookie data.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Browser history

To clear the mobile browser history, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Application.
  2. Tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Bookmarks icon at top-right.
    • Note: You may need to touch and slide the screen down to display the address field and Bookmarks icon.
  4. Tap History.
  5. Tap the Menu key.
  6. Tap Clear history.

 

 

Browser windows open / close

To open a new browser window or close one, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Web page, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap New window. The new window is now added.

    Note: To navigate through your windows, while on a web page, tap the Windows icon, then swipe left or right and tap the desired page.

 

 

Turn on / off JavaScript

To turn on or turn off JavaScript in the mobile browser, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Application.
  2. Tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Advanced.
  6. Tap to select or clear the Enable JavaScript check box to enable or disable JavaScript.

Sync

Background data

To turn on or turn off background data, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Under 'Accounts,' tap the desired application (for example, Google).
  4. Choose one of the following options:

To sync all accountsTap Sync all. To sync an individual account
Note
: Choose this option to sync data for one account (for example, if you are logged into two or more Google accounts).

    1. At the top of the screen, tap the account you would like to sync.
    2. Tap Sync now .

 

 

Sync apps & accounts

To add or edit apps and accounts to sync, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'My accounts,' tap the desired account type (for example, Google).
  4. From the main account screen, tap to adjust any available settings.
  5. At the top of the screen, tap your email address or user name to adjust sync settings for an individual account.
  6. To add a category to automatic sync (for example, Sync Contacts), tap the category to select the check box.
  7. To remove a category from automatic sync (for example, Sync Contacts), tap the category to clear the check box.

    Note: Tap Sync now to manually sync all categories with selected check boxes.


Gmail

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Gmail.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. Tap Gmail sync is [ON / OFF]
  6. To turn on, tap Auto sync app data to select the check box.
  7. To turn off, tap Auto sync app data to clear the check box.
  8. If turned on, tap Days of mail to sync and then tap the desired setting.


Email

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Email.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. To turn on, tap Sync email to select the check box.
  6. To turn off, tap Sync email to clear the check box.
  7. If turned on, tap Sync schedule and then tap the desired settings.
