Drivers for computers

To download and install drivers for a Windows computer, follow these steps:

 

Your phone can share its mobile data connection with a single computer using a USB cable.

 

Tethering works with Windows® 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista®.  To install the driver, go to http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/TMUS_Update/index.jsp.

  1. Under Downloads, click on USB Cable Driver.
  2. Follow the prompts to download the drivers.

Mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi

Set up mobile hotspot

To set up or configure a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Scroll to and tap Tethering & portable hotspot.
  5. If necessary, tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to enable Wi-Fi hotspot.
  6. Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
  7. Tap Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.
  8. Configure settings as desired.
  9. Tap Save

Turn on / off mobile hotspot

To turn on or turn off a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Scroll to and tap Tethering & portable hotspot.
  5. Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to enable or disable.
  6. Your phone is now sharing its mobile network data connection using Wi-Fi.

 

Your phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID) so you can connect up to five other devices. Your phone’s default SSID is T-Mobile G2x.

Tethering via USB

To share you mobile data connection with a computer over a USB cable, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect a USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Wireless & networks.
  5. Scroll to and tap Tethering & portable hotspot.
  6. Tap USB tethering.

 

Your phone is now sharing its mobile network data connection with your computer via the USB connection.
