Data usage

Data usage indicator

To turn on, set, or turn off the data usage indicator, follow these steps:

 

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Usage.
  4. Tap Set data usage limit to select and enable. Once enabled, a new horizontal red bar will appear in the graph.
  5. Touch and drag the horizontal red bar up or down to set your data usage limit. As you drag, the data limit value will change.

 

 

View data use by app

To view how much data certain apps are using, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Usage.
  4. From the graph, touch and drag the vertical white bars to set a beginning and end time period for which to check your data usage.
    • Note: Below the graph, the dates selected will change when the bars are adjusted.
  5. Below the graph, view the about used data usage value.
  6. Swipe up to view a list of all of your phone’s application data usage from largest at top to smallest at bottom for the time period.

Browser cache

To clear the mobile browser cache, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications applicationsicon.png icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Privacy & security.
  6. Scroll to and tap Clear cache.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Browser cookies

To clear the mobile browser cookies, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications applicationsicon.png icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Privacy & security.
  6. Scroll to and tap Clear all cookie data.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Browser history

To clear the mobile browser history, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications applicationsicon.png icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Privacy & security.
  6. Scroll to and tap Clear history.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Browser windows open / close

To open a new browser window or close one, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Web page, tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  2. Tap Windows.
  3. Tap the Add icon.

 

 

Turn on / off JavaScript

To turn on or turn off JavaScript in the mobile browser, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications applicationsicon.png icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Internet.
  3. Tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Advanced.
  6. Tap Enable JavaScript to select and enable or clear and disable JavaScript.

Sync

Background data

To turn on or turn off background data, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Account & sync.
  4. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Tap Sync all.

 

 

Sync apps & accounts

To add or edit apps and accounts to sync, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menuicon.png key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Account & sync.
  4. Tap the Auto Sync On / Off toggle to enable or disable auto data synchronization.
  5. If prompted, tap OK.
  6. Tap an application in the list of accounts to edit its sync settings (type of data to sync and the sync schedule).
