Turn off developer options

If developer options are turned on, it can cause red border on the screen, errors when connecting to computers, or other problems. To turn off all developer options, follow these steps:

Change language

To change the language of the device and menus, follow these steps:

 

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu image008.jpg key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Scroll to and tap Language & keyboard.
  • Tap Language.

Setup wizard

After turning on your device the first time, you may see a setup wizard to help you set up your device. To do this initial setup, follow these steps:

 

  1. Create or sign into your Gmail account.

Time & date

Auto-update time (NITZ)

To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu image008.jpg key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap Date and time.
  4. Tap the Automatic check box to turn on or off automatic update.

 

 

Set time & date

To set the time and date of the device clock, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu image008.jpg key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap Date and time.
  4. If necessary, tap the Automatic date & time to check box to turn off automatic update.
  5. Tap Set date.
  6. Touch and drag the number wheels to set the current date.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. Tap Set time.
  9. Touch and drag the number wheels to set the current time.
  10. Tap OK.
  11. If desired, tap Automatic time zone to clear and turn off and then tap Select time zone.
  12. Scroll to and tap the desired time zone.
  13. If desired, tap to select Use 24-hour format.
  14. If desired, tap Select date format.
  15. Tap one of the following options:
    • 12/31/2011
    • 31/12/2011
    • 2011/12/31
    • Sat, Dec 31, 2011
    • Sat, 31 Dec 2011
    • 2011 Dec 31, Sat
