Insert / remove battery

To to insert or remove the battery in your device, follow these steps:

 

  1. Lift the back cover by the notch in the side edge of the phone.

  2. Place the battery in or out of the battery compartment.

  3. Place the back cover onto the phone, and press until it snaps back into place.

To turn on, turn off, or use battery life saving features on the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap battery saver.
  4. Tap the Always turn on Battery Saver when battery is low check box to turn it on or off.
  5. Tap the Turn on Battery Saver now, until next charge check box to turn it on or off.

Tips to save battery life

To save and extend battery life, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are not on your phone when troubleshooting.
  2. Check your device for liquid or physical damage. If you see liquid or physical damage, contact us.
  3. Check your device's Tech Specs to understand the expected battery life for your device.
    Note: Using device features that rely on connectivity (T-Mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) or extended backlight use can cause the battery power to deplete fast.
  4. Adjust your backlight brightness and timeout using device How Tos.
  5. Make sure apps in the background are closed out.
  6. Make sure you are using the latest version of software for your device.
  7. If you are using a non-T-Mobile battery, contact the battery manufacturer for troubleshooting.
  8. If possible, try a different battery. If another battery does not have the issue, the original should be replaced.
  9. If the above steps have not resolved your issue, contact us.
