Bluetooth

Pair Bluetooth device

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

 

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Wireless & networks.
    4. Tap Bluetooth settings.
    5. Tap to select the Bluetooth check box to turn on Bluetooth.
Note
      : Your phone is now visible to other devices for 2 minutes. To reset the discoverable timer to 2 minutes, tap
Discoverable
      to clear check box and disable. Next, tap
Discoverable
      again to select check box and enable and reset the timer to 2 minutes.
    1. On the other device, turn on Bluetooth and make it discoverable.
    2. On your phone, tap Scan for devices.
    3. On the Bluetooth devices list, tap the device for pairing.
    4. If prompted, enter the password and tap OK.
Note
  1. : The default password is 1234 or 0000.
  2. Tap Pair.
  3. On the other device, accept the pairing.

 

 

Turn on / off Bluetooth

To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the Status bar down.
  2. Tap the Bluetooth icon. When disabled, the icon and blue indicator light will clear.

Emergency Alerts

Turn on / off Emergency Alerts

To turn on or turn off Emergency Alert messages that push to the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Tap CMAS.
  3. Tap  the Menu key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap  to select or clear the following check boxes to enable or disable the alert:
    • Show extreme alerts
    • Show severe alerts
    • Show AMBER alerts

GPS

Turn on / off GPS

To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the Status bar down.
  2. Tap the GPS icon to enable or disable.

Network

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, pressMenu.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless & networks
  4. Turn off Airplane Mode orFlight Mode
  5. Tun on Mobile Network (if available)
  6. Touch Mobile Networks.
  7. If you see the following check boxes, turn them on:
    • Data Enabled
    • Use Packet Data
    • If the customer is roaming off the T-Mobile Netowrk; turn on Data Roaming This will incur charges if you roam internationally, but it is required to receive data when roaming domestically.
  8. Touch Access Point Namesor APNs.

 

 

Manual network selection

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search networks.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired network.
  8. If prompted, tap OK to disable data services and continue search.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

To change the band between 2G, 4G, and LTE, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the any screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Use only 2G networks to select or clear the checkbox.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. Tap Airplane mode to turn on or off.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data roaming to turn on (enable) or turn off (disable) data services when roaming.
  6. Tap OK.

System Manager (Carrier IQ)

Opt in / out of System Manager

System Manager makes it easier for T-Mobile to help with problems that happen when using your device. To opt in or opt out of System Manager, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Collect diagnostics.
  5. Tap Allow Diagnostics to select or clear the check box to enable or disable.

Wi-Fi

Delete Wi-Fi network profile

To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap Wi-Fi to turn on and scan for Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  7. Tap Forget.

 

 

Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. If necessary, tap to select the Wi-Fi check box to enable Wi-Fi.
  6. Tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Scan.
  8. Tap the network you want to connect to.
  9. If security is enabled, enter the password.
  10. Tap Connect.

 

 

Turn on / off Wi-Fi

To turn on or turn off Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and drag the Status bar down.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi icon to enable.The icon will turn green when enabled.

 

 

W-Fi indicators

To determine when you have an active Wi-Fi connection, refer to these icons:
