Manage messages

Add SMS service center number

To add or change the SMS service center number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Tap the More icon.
  3. Tap settings.
  4. Scroll down to and tap the SMS center number field.
  5. Enter the desired number.
    Note: The default number is +12063130004.
  6. Tap save.

 

 

Delete picture messages (MMS)

To delete picture messages (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Touch and hold the picture message you want to delete.
  3. Tap delete.
  4. Tap delete again to confirm.

 

 

Delete text messages (SMS)

To delete text messages (SMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Touch and hold the text message you want to delete.
  3. Tap delete.
  4. Tap delete again to confirm.

 

 

Save pictures received in a message (MMS)

To save a picture you received as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Navigate to and select the picture you want to save.
  3. Tap the More icon.
  4. Tap save to phone.

Send messages

Send a group text message (SMS)

To write and send text messages (SMS) to a group, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
  2. If necessary, touch the screen and slide right to display the 'together' screen.
  3. Scroll down to 'Groups,' and select the group you want to send a message to.
  4. Tap text.
  5. Enter your message.
  6. When finished, tap the Send icon (Messaging_Send.jpg).

 

 

Send a new picture or video in a message (MMS)

To take a new picture or video and send it as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

Picture

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Tap the New message icon (Messaging_Compose.jpg) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At 'To,' enter the recipient's phone number.
    Note: You may also tap the Add icon to choose a contact from your phone book.
  4. Tap the type a message field.
  5. Enter your message.
  6. Tap the Attach icon (Messaging_Attach.jpg).
  7. Tap picture.
  8. Tap the Camera icon
  9. Frame your subject.
  10. Press the Camera key to take a picture.
  11. Tap accept.
  12. When finished, tap the Send icon (Messaging_Send.jpg).

 

 

Video

  1. From the Start screen, press the Camera key.
  2. Tap the Video icon.
  3. Press the Camera key or tap the screen to begin recording.
  4. Press the Camera key or tap the screen to end recording.
  5. Tap the arrow icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  6. Tap the More icon.
  7. Tap share.
  8. Tap Messaging.
  9. At 'To,' enter the recipient's phone number.
    Note: You may also tap the Add icon to choose a contact from your phone book.
  10. If necessary, tap the type a message field and then enter your message.
  11. When finished, tap the Send icon (Messaging_Send.jpg).

 

 

Send a saved picture or video in a message (MMS)

To send pictures or videos you have saved on your device as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
  2. Tap the New message icon (Messaging_Compose.jpg) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At 'To,' enter the recipient's phone number.
    Note: You may also tap the Add icon to choose a contact from your phone book.
  4. Tap the type a message field.
  5. Enter your message.

  7. Select one of the following options:
    • video
    • picture
  8. Navigate to and select the file you want to send.
