Notifications

 

To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:

 

  1. Transfer the music or sound file to your device.
  2. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and slide down.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Tap Applications.
  6. Select the type of notification you want to change.
  7. Tap the Tone field.
  8. Tap Browse Music.
  9. Navigate to and select the desired sound file.

 

 

Ringtones

 

To change the ringtone, follow these steps:

 

Ringtone for all calls

  1. Transfer the music or sound file to your device.
  2. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and slide down.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Tap Applications.
  6. Tap Phone.
  7. Tap the Tone field.
  8. Tap Browse Music.
  9. Navigate to and select the desired sound file.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

  1. Transfer the music or sound file to your device.
  2. From Home screen 1, tap Contacts.
  3. Select a contact you want to change the ringtone for.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Scroll down to and tap Ring Tone and Notifications.
  6. Tap the Phone Calls field.
  7. Select the desired ringtone.

 

 

Transfer music or sounds to use

 

Some devices require you to transfer music, sounds, or other audio files to the device in a certain way for it to be used for ringtones and notifications. To transfer these files, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the small end of your USB cable to your device and the large end of the cable to your computer.
  2. If necessary, download and install the BlackBerry Link software on your computer. 
    Note: Software may be downloaded through the connection prompt or www.blackberry.com/BlackBerryLink.
  3. Open BlackBerry Link.
  4. With the Computer tab selected, navigate to the music or sound file you want to transfer.
  5. Click the file name, drag it over the BLACKBERRY tab, and then drop it.
  6. When finished transferring, disconnect your device from the computer.
