Manage your T-Mobile ID password

Maybe it's time to change your T-Mobile ID password, or maybe you've forgotten it and need to reset it. No worries, we have you covered!

Password requirements

  • Must be between 8-50 characters
  • Must include at least 1 number
  • Must include at least 1 letter
  • Can't contain spaces
  • Can include these special characters: ~ @ # $ % ^ & * () / : ; ? , . <>

  • The last five passwords can't be re-used

 

Why do I have to change my password?

It's good practice to change account passwords every few months. That's why we require T-Mobile ID passwords to be changed once a year. We take account security seriously, and this adds an extra layer of protection to your account.

 

  • When prompted to change your password on My T-Mobile or the app, you will need to update the password so that you don't get locked out of the account.
  • If your phone has a compatible biometric scanner (such as Touch ID or Face ID), you can use it on the T-Mobile app so you can sign in securely without having to remember your password each time.

 

 

Change your T-Mobile ID password

Use your mobile number as your

 

My T-Mobile

  1. Log in to My T-Mobile using your mobile number or registered email and password.
  2. Click PROFILE.
  3. Click the drop-down and select the desired line.
  4. Click T-Mobile ID.
  5. Next to "Password", click Edit.
  6. Enter the new password.
  7. Click Save.

 

T-Mobile app

  1. Open the app and log in using your mobile number or registered email and password. If you don't have it, download it now.
  2. Tap MORE > Profile Settings > T-Mobile ID.
  3. Tap Password.
  4. Enter your old password then select a new password and verify the new password.
  5. Tap SAVE.

 

Change Business & Prepaid passwords

  1. From My T-Mobile, click Your Profile.
  2. Next to "Customer information", click Edit.
  3. Next to "Password", click Edit.
  4. Enter a new password.
  5. Click Save.

 

 

Reset a forgotten password

 

My T-Mobile

  1. Open My T-Mobile, and click Forgot password?.
  2. Enter your billing ZIP code and click NEXT.
  3. Select the verification method:
    • Text message: Send me a temporary password.
    • Email: Send me a verification link.
    • Security questions: I will answer my security questions.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions for the method chosen.
  5. If these steps haven't fixed the issue, contact us.

 

T-Mobile app

  1. Open the app. If you don't have it, download it now.
  2. From the app Home screen, tap Forgot Password?.
  3. Enter your billing ZIP code and click Next.
  4. Select the verification method:
    • Text message: Send me a temporary password.
    • Security questions: I will answer my security questions.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions for the method chosen.
