Insert/remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

Insert the SIM card

  1. Place your fingernail in the notch at the top of the phone and pull the back cover off.

  2. Slip a fingertip into the notch beneath the battery and lift the battery out of the compartment.

  3. Turn the SIM card so the gold contacts face down and the notched end faces away from the SIM card slot. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot.

  4. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment, and push the battery into place.

  5. Press the back cover onto the phone until it snaps into place.

 

Remove the SIM card

  1. Place your fingernail in the notch at the top of the phone and pull the back cover off.

  2. Slip a fingertip into the notch beneath the battery and lift the battery out of the compartment.

  3. Slide the SIM card out of the SIM card slot.
  4. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment, and push the battery into place.

View free SIM space

To view free space on the SIM card for contacts or messages, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Scroll down to and tap Memory status.
  4. View the USIM space information.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. Verify the IMEI by typing *#06#.
  4. Insert a Non-T-Mobile SIM & turn the phone on.
  5. The phone will automatically prompt you to enter the code into an  empty field.
  6. Click/Tap in the empty field above the "Unlock & Dismiss" options (this will display a key pad on the screen).
  7. Input the unlock code provided by T-Mobile.
  8. Click/Tap Unlock.
  9. The phone will display  Network Unlock Successful.
