Wi-Fi calling: T-Mobile Prism II

Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling, the 911 address, and the connection preference on the T-Mobile Prism II.

 

 

 

 

Set up

Register the 911 address

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register your 911 address at My T-Mobile. If you do not, you may see a REG09 error. To learn how to register your 911 address, see: 911 addresses: My T-Mobile.

 

 

Set phone to use Wi-Fi or mobile networks

To set the connection preference for the phone to use Wi-Fi calling or mobile networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. If necessary, tap the All tab.
  4. Tap More.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  6. Tap Connection Preferences.
  7. Select one of the following:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network

Turn on and connect

Turn on and connect

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network. To turn on Wi-Fi and connect, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on.
  5. If necessary, tap Skip.
  6. Select a Wi-Fi network to connect to.
    Note: If the desired network does not appear in the list, tap the Menu key, and then tap Scan.
  7. If the network is secured, enter the password and then tap Connect.

 

 

Turn on Wi-Fi calling

To turn on Wi-Fi calling, follow these steps:

 

  1. If this is the first time you are using Wi-Fi calling, start with registering your 911 address and setting your connection preference (above).
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network.
  3. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap System settings.
  5. If necessary, tap the All tab.
  6. Tap More.
  7. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling switch to turn on.
