Understanding the software version
Beginning December 9, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will have a software update to Android version 4.3/ Software T889UVUCMK7 via Over-the-Air manual pull down and Samsung Kies.
You can update in two ways:
Beginning December 9, follow the steps to Download update from Samsung.
T-Mobile and Samsung will not send you a software update.
Devices with non-T-Mobile software versions are out of warranty and do not receive updates.

You can manually update using the manufacturer provided USB and any computer that has the latest version of Samsung Kies installed. To manually update over a USB cable, follow these steps:
Note: All troubleshooting support for the Kies desktop experience including installation, connectivity between handset and Kies as well as device OS updates should be forwarded to Samsung. See Samsung Kies for more information.
Note: USB Debugging is only needed when using a MAC to Update via Kies.
Important: Verify you have backed up all of your data, including the contents of the internal (non-removable) SD card, to prevent unnecessary data loss.
