Customize (keys, name)

Greeting / name tag – Not supported

Program name and number

This feature offers a storage location for your name and contact information. Although you can add phone numbers using this procedure, your T-Mobile phone number is not affected.

To program your name and number, follow these steps:

Note: Follow this procedure if you tapped Skip for the ‘This phone belongs to’ screen during your phone’s first time start-up prompts or following a master reset.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
  2. Under ME at the top of the Contacts list, tap Set up profile.
  3. Tap to enter your name.
  4. Tap the Phone number field and enter your phone number.
  5. Enter any other desired information and tap Save.

 

To edit your name and add a number, follow these steps:

Note: Follow this procedure if you entered your name at the ‘This phone belongs to’ screen during your phone’s first time start-up prompts or following a master reset.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
  2. Under ME at the top of the Contacts list, tap profile name.
  3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
  4. If desired, change your profile name or tap the Drop-Down Arrow to add more name information.
  5. If desired, tap Add another field.
  6. Tap to add profile information from the Add another field list. Repeat as desired.
  7. Note: Swipe up to view all options.
  8. When finished, tap Save.

Home screen

Add widget, shortcut, or folder

To add a widget, shortcut, or folder to the Home screen, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Home screen where you want to add the item.
  2. Touch and hold a vacant spot on the screen.
  3. Tap one of the following options:
    • Widgets
      1. Swipe left or right to the desired widget and tap the widget to add.
      2. Note: The selected home screen must contain enough room to hold the widget.
    • Folders
    • Shortcuts

 

 

Move widget, shortcut, or folder

To move a widget, shortcut, or folder on the Home screen, follow these steps:

  1. On any Home screen, touch and hold the shortcut, widget, or folder that you want to move.
  2. Drag the shortcut, widget, or folder to a new location while staying inside the rectangle that appears.
  3. Remove your finger.

 

Remove widget, shortcut, or folder

To remove a widget, shortcut, or folder from the Home screen, follow these steps:

  1. Touch and hold a widget, shortcut, or folder on any Home screen.
  2. Drag the widget, shortcut, or folder to the Trash can icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Remove your finger.

Ringtones

Change ring style

To change the ring type, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound.
  4. Tap Silent mode.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
    • Off
    • Vibrate
    • Mute
  6. If desired, tap to select the Sound and vibration check box and enable.
  7. Note: To enable or disable Sound and vibration, Silent mode must be set to Off.

 

Change ringtone

To change the ringtone or melody, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound.
  4. Tap Phone ringtone.
  5. Tap the desired ringtone.
  6. Tap OK.

 

Add a new ringtone from memory

To add a new ringtone from your internal phone memory or external SD card, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Tap My files.
  3. Navigate to the folder containing the desired ringtone file.
  4. Note: The external_sd folder is your external SD card (memory card).
  5. Touch and hold on the desired file.
  6. Tap Copy. You are auto-relocated to the My files main page and ‘Paste here’ appears at bottom-left.
  7. Tap the Ringtones folder.
  8. Tap Paste here.
  9. The new ringtone auto-populates in alphabetical order into your Device ringtone list in the Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone menu.

 

Delete ringtones

To delete downloaded ringtones, follow these steps:
Note: Pre-loaded ringtones cannot be deleted.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Tap My files.
  3. Tap the Ringtones folder.
  4. Tap Menu.
  5. Tap Delete.
  6. Tap to select each ringtone file you want to delete.
  7. Tap Delete.

 

Download via Computer

To download ringtones from T-Mobile.com on a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. On a computer, download the ringtone from T-Mobile.com.
  2. On your phone, you will receive a text message from T-Mobile.com and an alert will appear in the Status bar on the Home screen.
  3. Touch and drag the Status bar down.
  4. Tap the message.
  5. Tap the link.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Wallpaper – Delete

Note: To remove a Gallery image wallpaper, set a new wallpaper to display. Deleting the Gallery image file will fail to remove the wallpaper.

Delete Live Wallpapers
To delete downloaded Live Wallpapers, follow these steps:

Note: Factory-installed wallpapers cannot be deleted.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Applications.
  4. Tap the Downloaded tab.
  5. Tap the desired Live Wallpaper listing.
  6. Tap Uninstall.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. Tap OK again.
  9. The wallpaper is now removed from the Live Wallpaper gallery.

 

 

 

Wallpaper – Download via Computer

To download wallpaper from T-Mobile.com on a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. On a computer, download the ringtone from T-Mobile.com
  2. On your phone, you will receive a text message from T-Mobile.com and an alert will appear in the Status bar on the Home screen.
  3. Touch and drag the Status bar down.
  4. Tap the message.
  5. Tap the link.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Wallpaper – Set

To change the Home screen background wallpaper image, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Wallpaper.
    • Gallery
      1. Tap the desired picture.
      2. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.
      3. Tap Save.
      4. Tap Yes to also assign the gallery image to the lock screen wallpaper. Otherwise, tap No.
    • Live wallpapers
      1. Tap the desired wallpaper.
      2. Tap Set wallpaper.
    • Wallpaper gallery
      1. Tap the desired wallpaper.
      2. Tap Set wallpaper.
      3. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.
      4. Tap Save.
      5. Tap Yes to also assign the gallery image to the lock screen wallpaper. Otherwise, tap No.

 

Lock screen wallpaper – Set

To change the Lock screen background wallpaper image, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Display.
  4. Tap Lock screen wallpaper.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
    • Gallery
      1. Tap the desired picture.
      2. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.
      3. Tap Save.
    • Wallpaper gallery
      1. Tap the desired wallpaper.
      2. Tap Set wallpaper.
      3. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.
      4. Tap Save.
