    Learn how to use the T-Mobile Connection Manager for the T-Mobile Rocket 4G.

     

     

    Connect to T-Mobile Mobile Internet

    1. Insert the laptop stick into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Click Connect.

     

    Install Connection Manager

     

    Microsoft Windows

     

    Note: Connection Manager is not supported on Windows 10.

     

    1. Insert the laptop stick into a USB port on your computer. If installation doesn't start automatically, go to My Computer, right-click webConnect Mg, and click AutoRun.exe.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions in the T-Mobile Connection Manager wizard.
    3. When installation is complete, click Finish to exit the wizard. The Connection Manager opens and connects to the T-Mobile network.
    4. Open a web browser and activate your laptop stick. You must complete all activation steps before you can connect to the Internet using your laptop stick.

     

    Mac OS X

    1. Insert your laptop stick in the USB port of your computer.
    2. Click webConnect Mg.
    3. Click Mac.
    4. Click T-Mobile Connection Manager.mpkg.
    5. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

     

     

    Unblock PIN (PUK code)

    If the laptop stick becomes locked, you can re-enable the PIN mechanism by entering a Personal Unblocking Key (PUK). If the PIN is locked, a dialog box prompts you to reset the PIN by entering a combination of the PUK and the new PIN.

     

    1. Enter the PUK and new PIN code.
    2. Click Submit.

     

     

    Read and delete text messages

    Text messaging is limited to incoming account notifications from T-Mobile. When you receive a new message, the Message Center icon changes color. Text messages are delivered only when you are connected to the T-Mobile network.

     

    1. Insert the laptop stick into a USB port on your computer. The Connection Manager opens automatically.
    2. Click the Message Center envelope to view messages.
    3. To delete a message, select it and click Delete.

     

     

    View mobile number

    1. Insert the laptop stick into a USB port on your computer.
    2. The Connection Manager opens automatically.
    3. Click Menu > Phone Number to view the 10-digit number for your laptop stick.

     

     

    Change Connection Manager settings

    1. Insert the laptop stick into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Open the Connection Manager.
    3. Choose Menu > Settings.
    4. Select from the following options:
      • Auto Connection
        When the Connection Manager opens with Auto Connection enabled, the laptop stick automatically connects to the T-Mobile network. Auto Connection is turned on by default. Click the checkbox to turn it off or on.
      • Connection
        Connection allows you to add, view, and delete custom networks and custom network connection settings. Connection doesn't allow you to change T-Mobile network settings.
      • Security PIN
        When Security PIN is enabled, the Connection Manager requires you to input the four-digit security PIN number before the laptop stick can connect to the T-Mobile network. Security PIN is turned off by default. Click the checkbox to turn it off or on.

     

     

    Uninstall Connection Manager

     

    Windows XP

    1. Click Start.
    2. Select Control Panel.
    3. Click Add or Remove Programs.
      Note: It may take a minute for the list of installed applications to populate.
    4. Scroll down and click T-Mobile Connection Manager.
    5. Click Remove.
      Notes:
      • If prompted to at any time, remove the laptop stick from the computer.
      • If prompted to Save Settings, select No.

     

    Windows Vista and Windows 7

    1. Click Start.
    2. Select Control Panel.
    3. Click Uninstall a Program (under Programs).
    4. Right-click T-Mobile Connection Manager and select Uninstall. If prompted to Save Settings, select No.

     

    Mac OS X

    1. Navigate to Finder > User Name > Applications.
    2. Open the T-Mobile folder
    3. Double-click Uninstall T-Mobile Connection Manager and follow the prompts.
