MobileLife contacts do not sync with server after ICS update: Samsung Galaxy S II

    Understanding the Issue

    Symptoms

     

    • After update to ICS MobileLife Contacts no longer sync to the  Server.
    • Contacts added to the phone do not show up on the MobileLife web  portal accessible from my.t-mobile.com

    This issue occurs after updating to the T989UVLE1 (ICS) update.

    What to expect

    Saving contacts to Gmail instead of MobileLife contacts will ensure they are not lost.

     

    Resolution steps

     

    To sync contacts with Gmail, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Menu key.
    3. Tap Import/export.
    4. Tap Export to SD card.
    5. Tap OK to begin export. After export is complete return to  contacts.
    6. Tap the Menu key.
    7. Tap Import/export.
    8. Tap Save contact to Google.
    9. Tap OK to begin import.

      Note: To confirm contact sync, log onto the Gmail account from a computer.
