Beginning February 22, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (ICS only) will have a software update to Android version 4.0.4 / Baseband T769UVMB1 via OTA and Samsung Kies. This update improves security and provides an improved user experience.
You can update in two ways:
T-Mobile and Samsung will not send you a software update.
Devices with non-T-Mobile software versions are out of warranty and do not receive updates.
To find the software version on your device, follow these steps:
Android version 4.0.4 / Baseband version T769UVMB1 - Current ICS version
Android version 4.0.4 / Baseband version T769UVLH5
Android version 2.3.6 / Baseband version T769UVLF5 - Current GB version
Android version 2.3.6 / Baseband version T769UVLF4 - Approved 7/16/2012
Android version 2.3.6 / Baseband version T769UVLB7 - Approved 3/28/2011
Download OTA update - T769UVLF5 or T769UVMB1
You may request the T769UVLF4 update from the update servers, even if you have not received the Over the Air (OTA) update. To download or check for updates, follow these steps:
Note: If the Software has been pushed to your phone, you will received prompts to download. If it has not, you will receive a 'No Firmware' message.
Manually update via Kies - T769UVLF5 or T769UVMB1
Note: All troubleshooting support for the Kies desktop experience including installation, connectivity between handset and Kies as well as device OS updates via Kies, should be forwarded to Samsung.
Note: USB Debugging is only needed when using a MAC to Update via Kies.
Important: Verify you have backed up all of your data, including the contents of the internal (non-removable) SD card, to prevent unnecessary data loss.
