Smartphone Mobile Hotspot: Google Pixel 4

Learn how to share your mobile internet with other devices using the Google Pixel 4.

Set up

  1. Check that Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot are turned off.
  2. From the Home screen, swipe up to view your apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Network & internet > HotSpot & tethering.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi HotSpot, then tap the switch to turn Wi-Fi Hotspot on.
  5. Tap Hotppot name to change the network name (SSID).
  6. Tap Security and select from the following:
    • WPA2-Personal
    • None
  7. If you chose WPA2-Personal Security, tap HotSpot password to enter a unique password.
  8. Tap Advanced to view and change the following settings:
    • Turn off Mobile HotSpot automatically
    • AP Band
      • 2.4 GHz Band
      • 5.0 GHz Band preferred

 

Turn on / off

  1. Check that Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot are turned off.
  2. From the Home screen, swipe up to view your apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Network & internet > HotSpot & tethering.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi HotSpot, then tap the switch to turn Wi-Fi Hotspot on or off.
