Text messages (SMS) cannot send and receive: Nokia 5230 Nuron

    Some SIM profiles have the incorrect message center number programmed.
    Note: The device reads settings from the customers SIM card by default.


    Verify the Message Center in use is correct with the proper number:


    1. Press Menu.
    2. Select Messaging.
    3. Select Options.
    4. Select Settings.
    5. Select Text message.
    6. Verify the Message center in use. (e.g. VoiceStream or T-Mobile)
    7. Select Message centers.
    8. Select the message center from step 6. (e.g. VoiceStream or T-Mobile)
    9. The Message center number should be +12063130004.
        Note: If another number is displayed, change it to the correct number +12063130004.


    Additional Troubleshooting:


    Create new message center number:


    1. Tap Message Centers.
    2. Tap Options.
    3. Tap new message center.
    4. Tap message center name.
      • Tap the text box that appears.
    5. Enter T-Mobile.
    6. Tap the green check mark at the top right of the screen.
    7. Tap OK.
    8. Double tap message center number.
      • Tap the text box that appears.
    9. Enter +12063130004 in the field.
    10. Tap the green check mark.
    11. Tap OK.
    12. Tap Back.
    13. Tap Back.
      • You will now be at the message centers screen.
    14. Double tap message center in use.
    15. Double tap T-Mobile.
    16. Turn the device off then on.
