First time use

When you first turn on your new device, you might see a setup wizard to help get you started. Take a look at the steps below to walk through the setup process.

 

  1. Write down the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and Wi-Fi Password on the label inside the back cover of the device for use during setup. If the label is missing:
    • The default Wi-Fi name (SSID) will be "Coolpad Surf + the last 4 digits of IMEI".
    • The default Wi-Fi password is the last 8 digits of the device IMEI.
  2. Ensure the battery and SIM card are inserted.
  3. Hold the Power key for 3 seconds until all LED indicators illuminate in blue.
  4. Connect your Wi-Fi device to your Mobile Hotspot.
  5. On your computer or other Wi-Fi enabled device, search for available Wi-Fi networks and select network name (SSID) located inside the back panel of your mobile hotspot.
    • From a Windows PC:
      1. Left-click Wireless Network Connection on the taskbar to view available networks.
      2. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks.
    • From a Mac computer:
      1. Select System Preferences > Network > Airport.
      2. Click Advanced to choose SSID from the list of available networks.
      3. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks.
    • From an iOS device:
      1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
      2. Choose the SSID from the available networks.
    • From an Android device:
      1. Go to Settings > Wi‑Fi settings.
      2. Choose the SSID from the available networks.
  6. Enter the password located inside the back panel, then click OK.

 

Transferring data

Sure it's time to say goodbye to your old device, but before you do, don't forget to transfer your pictures, videos, and anything else you might want to keep over to your new device. Take a look at the Set up a new mobile device page
