Answer call

To answer a call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Answer key.

 

Reject incoming calls

To reject an incoming call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the End key.

To reject an incoming call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Decline key.

 

Reject current call with message

 

Note: Using Reject current call with message sends the caller to voicemail and sends a text message to the caller.

 

To reject an incoming call and send a message, follow these steps:

 

  1. If desired, tap Silence.
  2. Tap Send msg.
  3. If desired, tap the text entry field to edit the message text using the keyboard.
  4. Tap the Send Message icon.

 

Change rejected call message text

 

To change the text of the message sent to rejected calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Message text.
  5. Tap in the text entry field and edit the message text using the keyboard.
  6. Tap the Checkmark icon.
  7. Tap OK.

 

Reject all calls

 

To reject all incoming calls and forward them to voicemail,follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Voice calls.
  7. Tap All voice calls.
  8. Tap Activate.

Dial

Use the keyboard

 

To make a call using the onscreen keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Enter the number.
  3. Tap the green Phone icon or press the green Phone key.

 

Use Contacts

 

To make a call from the phone book, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap the Contacts icon.
  3. Scroll to and tap the desired contact.
  4. Tap Voice call.

 

Use speed dial

 

To make a call using speed dial, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Touch and hold the speed dial number assigned to the contact.

 

End call

 

To end a call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap End Call.

 

OR

 

  1. Press the lighted red End key.

 

Hold call

 

To put a call on hold, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Hold.

 

To resume, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Unhold.

 

Mute and un-mute call

Mute

 

To turn on mute during a call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Mute icon (microphone with a line through it).

 

OR

 

  1. Press the Voice key (between the Volume up and Volume down keys).

 

Un-mute

 

To un-mute, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Un-Mute icon (microphone).

 

OR

 

  1. Press the Voice key (between the Volume up and Volume down keys).

 

Mute incoming ring

 

To mute an incoming call's ring, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Silence key.

 

Use speakerphone

 

To turn on or off the speakerphone during a call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the Speaker icon to turn the speakerphone on or off.

Caller ID

Incoming ID - Turn on / off

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if the contact is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phonebook, it only displays the caller's number.

 

Outgoing ID - Enable

 

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Send my caller ID.
  5. Select one of the following options:
    • Tap Set by network.
  6. Tap Yes.

 

Outgoing ID - Restrict

 

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Send my caller ID.
  5. Tap No.

 

Picture ID - Set

 

You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phonebook, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and tap the desired contact.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Edit.
  6. Tap Add image.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired image.
  8. Tap Done.

 

Ringer ID - Set

 

You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book,but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and tap the desired contact.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Edit.
  6. Tap Ringtone.
  7. Select and tap one of the following options:
    • Download sound clips
    • Tones
    • Songs
    • Sound clips
    • Default tone
  8. Search for or scroll to and tap the desired ringtone.
  9. Tap Select.
  10. Tap Done.

Call forwarding

Cancel call forwarding - All calls

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Options.
  7. Tap Deactivate all forwards.

 

Cancel call forwarding

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding) of voice calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Voice calls.
  7. Tap All voice calls.
  8. Tap Deactivate

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

 

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the device to ring.

 

To activate unconditional call forwarding of voice calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Voice calls.
  7. Tap All voice calls.
  8. Tap Activate.
  9. Select from one of the following options:
    • To voice mailbox
    • To other number
  10. If necessary, enter the number to forward to, tap the Checkmark icon, and then tap OK.

 

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

 

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them (no reply, busy, unavailable) seconds to delay.

 

To activate conditional call forwarding of voice calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Voice calls.
  7. Select from one of the following options:
    • If busy
    • If not answered
    • If out of reach
    • If not available
  8. Tap Activate.
  9. Select from one of the following options:
    • To voice mailbox
    • To other number
  10. If necessary, enter the number to forward to, tap the Checkmark icon, and then tap OK.

 

Forward calls to voicemail (conditional forwarding)

 

Voicemail forwarding forwards incoming calls to your voicemail so that callers can leave a message.

 

To turn on voicemail forwarding of voice calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Calling.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap Voice calls.
  7. Tap All voice calls.
  8. Tap Activate.
  9. Tap To voice mailbox.

DTMF tones

 

Changing DTMF tones are not supported.

Fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing.

 

To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Options.
  4. Tap SIM numbers.
  5. Tap Fixed dial contacts.
  6. Tap Options.
  7. Tap Deactivate fixed dialing.
  8. Enter your PIN2 code (by default, this code is 5678).
  9. Tap OK.

 

Phone line selection

 

Phone line selection is not supported.

Volume - Call

 

To raise or lower the volume of the earpiece, follow these steps:

 

While on a call, press the Volume up or Volume down keys to raise or lower the volume.

 

Volume - Ring

 

To raise or lower the ringtone volume, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Help&Settings.
  3. Tap Phone setup.
  4. Tap Personalize.
  5. Tap OK to leave the phone name unchanged.
  6. Tap Ringing volume.
  7. Tap the vertical bars to adjust the ringing volume.
  8. Tap OK.

Call timer

Reset timer

View call duration

 

Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls. Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

To display the duration of the current call, follow these steps:

 

  • From any Home screen, tap Call.
  • Tap Options.
  • Tap Call settings.
  • Tap Show call duration to set to Yes.
  • If desired, tap Summary after call to set to On.
  • After the call, the device will briefly display the final call duration.

Turn on / off

Turn on

 

To turn on call waiting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call waiting.
  5. Tap Activate.

 

Turn off

 

To turn off call waiting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Call.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call waiting.
  5. Tap Deactivate.

 

Use

 

To use call waiting when you hear the tone alerting you to anew incoming call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Answer to answer the new call and place the original call on hold.
  2. Tap Options and then Swap to switch between calls.
  3. Tap Conference Call to merge the calls.
  4. Tap Participants to see a list of all calls.
  5. Tap to select one of the calls.
  6. Tap Private to make that call private.
  7. Tap Drop to end that call.

Conference calling

Have private conversation

 

To speak privately with one caller in a conference call and put the other callers on hold, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Participants to see a list of all calls.
  2. Tap to select one of the calls.
  3. Tap Private to make that call private.

 

Start conference call

 

To add additional callers to the conference, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on a call, tap Options.
  2. Scroll to and tap New call.
  3. Enter the number.
  4. Tap Call to initiate the call.
  5. To merge the calls, tap Conference Call.

Voice commands

Assign a voice name to a contact

 

Assign a voice name to a contact is not supported.

Activate an application using a voice name

 

To activate an application by using a voice tag or voice, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press and hold the Voice key.
  2. If prompted, read the Voice commands tutorial and tap Activate.
  3. When the Speak now pop-up appears, speak the name of the desired application.
  4. A pop-up will show possible matches, with the most likely match in red at the top.
  5. If the top match is that of the desired application, the application will automatically activate after several seconds.
  6. If the top match is not that of the desired application, scroll to and tap the correct match.
  7. If none of the matches are correct, tap Quit and try again.
  8. If no matches are found, a pop-up and a voice will indicate “No matches found.”

 

Listen to the voice name of a contact

 

To listen to or see the voice tags or voice names assigned to a phone book contact for voice-activated dialing, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and select the desired contact.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Voice tag details.
  6. Tap the desired entry.
  7. A voice will speak the voice tag for that entry, and a pop-up will show the voice tag as text.

 

Dial using voice name

 

To use voice-activated dialing to call a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, touch and hold Call.
  2. If prompted, read the Voice commands tutorial and tap Activate.
  3. When the Speak now pop-up appears, speak the name of the desired contact.
  4. A pop-up will show possible matches, with the most likely match in red at the top.
  5. If the top match is that of the desired contact, the number will automatically dial after several seconds.
  6. If the top match is not that of the desired contact, scroll to and tap the correct match.
  7. If none of the matches are correct, tap Quit and try again.
  8. If no matches are found, a pop-up and a voice will indicate “No matches found.”

  2. Touch and hold 1 to call voicemail.

  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap 1-touch dialing.
  4. Tap the yellow Voicemail icon.

  4. Scroll to and then touch and hold the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap Add to contacts.
  6. Tap New contact.
  7. Tap in the text entry fields to enter names using the keyboard.
  8. After each name, tap the Checkmark icon, then tap OK.
  9. Tap Phone type.
  10. Scroll to and tap the type of phone.
  11. Tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail - Add existing contact

 

To add a contact from a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Scroll to and then touch and hold the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap Add to contacts.
  6. Tap Existing contact.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired contact.
  8. If desired, tap Phone type.
  9. Scroll to and tap the type of phone.
  10. Tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail - Change greeting

 

To change the Visual Voicemail greeting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Scroll to and tap Change greeting message.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Record a new custom greeting
    • Record a new voice signature
  8. Tap Save.
  9. Tap Record and say your greeting or signature.
  10. Tap Stop when done recording.
  11. Tap the Play icon to listen to the new greeting or signature.
  12. Tap Save to save it or Discard to record a new one.

 

Visual Voicemail - Change greeting - Software Version 024.002

 

To change the Visual Voicemail greeting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Scroll to and tap Change greeting message.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Use standard greeting with my phone number
    • Record a new custom greeting
    • Record a new voice signature
  8. Tap Save.
  9. Tap Record and say your greeting or signature.
  10. Tap Stop when done recording.
  11. Tap the Play icon to listen to the new greeting or signature.
  12. Tap Save to save it or Discard to record a new one.

 

Visual Voicemail - Change password

 

To change the Visual Voicemail password, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Scroll to and tap Change PIN.
  7. Tap Current PIN.
  8. Tap the text field to enter the current PIN using the keyboard.
  9. Tap the Checkmark icon.
  10. Tap OK
  11. Tap New PIN.
  12. Tap the text field to enter the new PIN using the keyboard.
  13. Tap the Checkmark icon.
  14. Tap OK
  15. Tap Confirm new PIN.
  16. Tap the text field to re-enter the new PIN using the keyboard.
  17. Tap the Checkmark icon.
  18. Tap OK
  19. Tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail - Delete voicemail

 

To delete a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Scroll to and tap the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap the red Delete icon.
  6. Tap Yes.

 

Visual Voicemail - Listen to new message

 

To listen to a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Scroll to and tap the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap the blue Play icon.

 

Visual Voicemail - Reply

 

To reply to a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Scroll to and tap the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap Options.
  6. Tap Reply via.
  7. Choose one of the following two options:
    1. Call
      1. Tap Yes.
      2. Tap Call.
    2. Text message
      1. Tap Text.
      2. Tap the text field to enter the message using the keyboard.
      3. Tap the Checkmark icon when done.
      4. Tap OK.
      5. Tap Send.

 

Visual Voicemail - Save

 

To save a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Scroll to and tap the desired voicemail message.
  5. Tap Options.
  6. Tap Save a copy.
  7. Tap File name to change the default file name.
  8. Tap the text field to enter the new file name using the keyboard.
  9. Tap the Checkmark icon when done.
  10. Tap OK.
  11. Tap Save in directory to select a directory.
  12. Scroll to and tap the desired directory.
  13. If necessary, scroll to and tap the desired sub-directory.
  14. Tap Save.
  15. Tap Options.
  16. Tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail - Set up

 

To set up Visual Voicemail, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Tap the following options to view, configure, or change Visual Voicemail settings:
    • International roaming
    • Visual Voicemail status
    • Default sort order
    • Default speaker status
    • ‘Play all new’ button
    • Change greeting message
    • Change PIN
    • Memory used
    • Version

 

Visual Voicemail - Synchronize

 

To manually synchronize Visual Voicemail messages (new messages are downloaded and deleted are removed), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap Visual Voicemail.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Synchronize inbox.

 

Visual Voicemail - Turn on / turn off

 

To turn on or off Visual Voicemail, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Menu key.
