Change password / PIN

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  2. Enter current passcode.
  3. Tap Change Passcode.
  4. Enter the current passcode.
  5. Enter new passcode, then tap Next.
  6. Re-enter new passcode, then tap Done.

 

Turn on / off

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  2. Enter passcode if prompted.
  3. Tap Turn Passcode On or Turn Passcode Off.
  4. Enter the current password or tap Turn Passcode On to set a new passcode.

 

Touch ID

Use your fingerprint to unlock your iPhone 5s or later, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 or later.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  2. Enter passcode if prompted. Otherwise, tap Turn Passcode On to set a passcode.
  3. Tap Touch ID for iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store.
  4. Tap Add a fingerprint.
  5. Lift and rest your finger on the Home button.
  6. When the device vibrates, lift your finger again.
  7. Tap Continue.

 

Face ID

Use facial recognition to unlock your iPhone X.

 

  1. On the iPhone, tap Settings > Face ID & Passcode. If prompted, create or enter your passcode.
  2. Tap Set Up Face ID, then position your face in front of your device.
  3. Tap Get Started, look straight into your iPhone, and place your face inside the frame.
  4. Gently move your head to complete the circle. If you're unable to move your head, tap Accessibility Options.
  5. When you finish the first Face ID scan, tap Continue.
  6. Gently move your head to complete the circle for a second time.
  7. When Face ID setup is complete, tap Done.
