First time use

When you first turn on your new device, you might see a setup wizard to help get you started. Take a look at the steps below to walk through the setup process.

 

  1. Make sure the SIM card is inserted.
  2. Tap Start.
  3. If necessary, select a Wi-Fi network.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Enter your Google account email address(or tap Create a new account, or Skip).
  6. Enter your Google password.
  7. Tap Accept to agree to Google Terms of Service.
  8. Select or clear the following Google settings:
    • Automatically back up device data
    • Help apps find your location
    • Improve location accuracy
    • Help improve your Android experience
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Choose a backup restore option, then tap Next.
  11. Choose to set time & date, then tap Next.
  12. Tap SET UP FINGERPRINT or SKIP FOR NOW.
  13. Enter desired name into PHONE NAME field.
  14. Tap Next.
  15. If desired, select popular apps to install, then tap Finish.

 

Transferring data

Sure it's time to say goodbye to your old device, but before you do, don't forget to transfer your pictures, videos, and anything else you might want to keep over to your new device. Take a look at the Set up a new mobile device page
