Nokia Nuron 5230: Help and Support

By now you probably know all there is to know about your device, but if not, we've got you covered with some basic info below.

 

Starting April 6, 2019, this device may show incorrect locations or continuously search when attempting to use GPS due to the GPS Rollover. There’s no fix available, so if you need to use applications or services that rely on GPS technology, it just might be time to say your farewells and get a new device. Get a little refresher about the different buttons on your device as well as some of its key features.

Back up and restore

Backup

  1. From the Home screen, select Menu > Applications > Office > File manager.
  2. Press Backup twice.
  3. Select Backup contents.
  4. Select from the following items you want to back up: e.g.
    • Messages
    • Contacts
    • Calendar entries
    • Bookmarks & Files
  5. DO NOT select Settings (as this may cause issues to repeat during a master reset).
  6. Select Ok.
  7. Select Options > Back up now > Yes.

 

Restore

  1. From the main menu, select Applications > Office > File manager.
  2. Press Backup twice.
  3. Select Options > Restore.
  4. Select from the following items you want to restore: e.g.
    • Messages
    • Contacts
    • Calendar entries
    • Bookmarks & Files
  5. Select Ok.
  6. Verify that the device turns off and then back on once the restore is completed.

 

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

Master reset with settings menu

  1. Back up all necessary data on the internal memory.
  2. From the Home screen, tap the Dialer icon.
  3. Enter *#7370#.
  4. Enter the default code 12345.
  5. Tap Yes to accept.

 

Master reset with hardware keys

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

  1. Power off the device.(This next step is easier if the device is placed on a flat surface)
  2. Place the phone on a flat surface to easily be able to press the Send, End and Camera button with one hand.
  3. With the other hand press the Power button until the phone vibrates.
  4. Release the Power button.
  5. When the Nokia logo goes away you can let go of remaining buttons.

 

Memory and SIM cards

SIM card

This device supports a standard size SIM card.

  1. Open the SIM card slot cover on the left side of your phone and slide the SIM card into the slot.

  2. Close the card slot cover.

 

Memory card

  1. Open the memory card slot cover on the left side of the phone.

  2. Insert the memory card and push it in until it clicks into place.

 

Network settings

Manual network selection

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Double-tap Connectivity.
  4. Tap Network.
  5. Tap Operator selection.
  6. Tap Manual.

 

Turn on/off data roaming

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Double-tap Connectivity.
  4. Double-tap Data transfer.
  5. Tap Sync.
  6. Tap Options.
  7. Tap Advanced settings.
  8. Tap Sync when roaming.
  9. Tap Never allow.
  10. Tap OK.
