HTC HD7: Help and Support

By now you probably know all there is to know about your device, but if not, we've got you covered with some basic info below.

 

Starting April 6, 2019, this device may show incorrect locations or continuously search when attempting to use GPS due to the GPS Rollover. There’s no fix available, so if you need to use applications or services that rely on GPS technology, it just might be time to say your farewells and get a new device. Get a little refresher about the different buttons on your device as well as some of its key features.

Back up and restore

Backup Contacts

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap email+accounts.
  4. Tap add an account.
  5. Tap Microsoft account.
  6. Enter your email address and password.
  7. Tap sign in.
  8. Tap the account you just added.
  9. Under Content to sync, check or uncheck the following:
    • Email
    • Contacts
    • Calendar
  10. Tap done.

 

Backup media & pictures

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Pictures.
  3. Locate the picture you want to send.
  4. Tap the More icon.
  5. Tap share on SkyDrive.
  6. Tap to add a caption, if desired.
  7. Tap the Upload icon

 

Restore contacts

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap email+accounts.
  4. Tap add an account.
  5. Tap Microsoft account.
  6. Enter your email address and password.
  7. Tap sign in.
  8. Tap the account you just added.
  9. Under Content to sync, check or uncheck the following:
    • Email
    • Contacts
    • Calendar
  10. Tap done.

 

Restore media & pictures

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Pictures.
  3. Tap albums.
  4. Tap Mobile uploads from SkyDrive. This option only appears after you have uploaded a photo to SkyDrive.

 

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

Master reset with settings menu

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap about.
  4. Tap reset your phone.
  5. Read the warning about all personal content being erased.
  6. Tap yes.
  7. Tap yes again.

 

Master reset with hardware keys

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

  1. Turn off the phone.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down keys
  3. Press the Power/Lock key.
  4. Release the Volume keys when text appears on the screen.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight Factory Reset.
  6. Press then Power/Lock key to select Factory Reset.
  7. Press the Volume Down key to perform the reset.
  8. After the reset is complete, press the Volume Down key to restart the phone.

 

SIM card

SIM card

This device supports a mini-GBA size SIM card.

  1. Place your fingernail in the notch on the top of your phone and pull out to detach the back battery cover. Do NOT remove the lower portion of the back cover. Removal will damage your phone and void the warranty.
  2. Gently slide the SIM card in or out of the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing out.

  3. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the gold contacts in the battery compartment and gently press into place.
  4. Replace the back battery cover.

 

Network settings

Change band

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap cellular.
  4. Tap the Data connection slider to On or Off.

 

Manual network selection

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap cellular.
  4. Tap the Network selection field and choose tap to select. The phone will display "Searching..." in the upper left.
  5. Once searching is complete, tap the Network selection field again and tap the desired network.

 

Turn on/off data roaming

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap cellular.
  4. Tap the Data roaming options field.
  5. Tap roam or don’t roam.
  6. Touch and slide the Data connection slider to On or Off.

 

Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Touch and slide the Wi-Fi networking slider to On, if necessary. Your phone automatically searches for available Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Tap the desired network.
  6. Enter a password, if necessary, and tap done.

 

APN settings

  1. From the Home screen, swipe left to settings.
  2. Scroll to, and tap cellular.
  3. Add New APN: epc.tmobile.com.
  4. Tap Done (checkmark).
