Call Functions

Call basics

Answer call

 

To answer an incoming call, tap Answer (Responder).

 

Block incoming calls

 

To block calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts (Contactos) icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to block.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit (Modificar).
  5. Tap Options .
  6. Tap the Incoming calls check box to send calls directly to voicemail (Enviar directamente al correo de voz)

 

Dial

 

To make a call, follow these steps:

 

Using the keyboard

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon.
  2. Tap the Dialer (Teléfono) tab, if necessary.
  3. Enter the phone number you want to call.
  4. Tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon to call.

 

Using the phone book

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts (Contactos) icon.
  2. Tap the contact you want to call.
  3. Tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon next to the desired number to initiate the call.

 

Using speed dial

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon.
  2. Tap the Dialer (Teléfono) icon, if necessary.
  3. Touch and hold the speed dial number of the contact you want to call.

 

End call

 

To end a call, tap End call (Finalizar).

 

Hold call

 

To put a call on hold and return to it, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on a call, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Hold (Retener).
  3. To return to the call, tap Resume (Reanudar).

 

Mute call

 

To turn on or turn off mute during a call, follow these steps:

 

To mute

 

  • While on a call, tap Mute (Silenciar). A green bar appears under Mute (Silenciar).

 

To unmute

 

  • While muted, tap Mute (Silenciar) . The green bar under Mute (Silenciar) disappears.

 

Mute incoming ring

 

To immediately mute an incoming call's ring, press the Volume (Volúmen) key on the right side of the phone.

 

Speakerphone

 

To turn on or turn off the speakerphone, follow these steps:

 

To turn on speakerphone


  • While on a call, tap Speaker (Altavoz). A green bar appears under Speaker (Altavoz). Now the speakerphone is active.

 

To turn off speakerphone


  • While speakerphone is on, tap Speaker (Altavoz). The green bar under Speaker (Altavoz) disappears.

Caller ID

Incoming ID

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phone book, it only displays the caller's number.

 

 

Outgoing ID - Enable

 

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamadas).
  4. Tap Additional settings (Configuración adicional).
  5. Tap Caller ID (Identificador de llamadas).
  6. Tap Show number (Mostrar número).

 

Outgoing ID - Restrict

 

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamadas).
  4. Tap Additional settings (Configuración adicional).
  5. Tap Caller ID (Identificador de llamadas).
  6. Tap Hide number (Ocultar número).

 

Picture ID - Set

 

To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  • Note: You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to change.
  3. Tap the Menu (Menu) key.
  4. Tap Edit contact (Modificar).
  5. Tap the Add photo (Agregar foto) icon.
  6. Tap one of the following:
  • Take photo (Tomar foto).
    1. Frame the subject (Usar foto existente).
    2. Tap the Shutter icon or press the Camera (Cámara) key to capture the picture.
    3. Tap Done (Finalizar).
    4. If desired, touch and drag the box to adjust the image area.
    5. When finished, tap Save (Guardar).
    6. Tap Save (Guardar) again.
  • Select photo from Gallery
    1. Tap Files or Gallery.
    2. Scroll to and tap the desired picture.
    3. If desired, touch and drag the box to adjust the image area.
    4. When finished, tap Save (Guardar).
    5. Tap Save (Guardar) again.

 

Ringer ID - Set

 

To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  • Note: You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts (Contactos) icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to change.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Options.
  5. Tap Ringtone (Tono de timbre).
  6. Tap the desired ringtone.
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).

Call forwarding

Cancel call forwarding

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamada).
  4. Tap Call forwarding (Desvio de llamadas).
  5. Tap Always forward (Desviar siempre).
  6. Tap Disable (Desactivar).

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

 

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the phone to ring. To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamada).
  4. Tap Call forwarding (Desvio de llamadas).
  5. Tap Always forward (Desviar siempre).
  6. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Silhouette (Silueta) icon to select a number from your contact list.
    Note: The number for voicemail forwarding is +18056377243.
  7. Tap Enable (Habilitar).

 

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

 

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them. To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamada) .
  4. Tap Call forwarding (Desvio de llamadas).
  5. Tap a forwarding option:

 

  • Forward if busy (Desviar si esta ocupado)
  • Forward if unanswered (Desviar si no contesta)
  • Forward if unreachable (Desviar si no esta disponible)

 

  1. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Silhouette icon to select a number from your contact list.
  2. Tap Update (Actualizar).
  • Note: The number for voice mail forwarding is +18056377249.

 

Forward calls to voicemail (conditional forwarding)

 

Voicemail forwarding forwards incoming calls to your voicemail so that callers can leave a message. To turn on voicemail forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu (Menú) key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamada).
  4. Tap Call forwarding (Desvio de llamada).
  5. Tap a forwarding option:

 

  • Forward if busy (Desviar si esta ocupado)
  • Forward if unanswered (Desviar si no contesta)
  • Forward if unreachable (Desviar si no esta disponible)

 

  1. Enter +18056377249.
  2. Tap Update (Actualizar).

Call settings

DTMF tones

 

Your device can send a number to the network as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones. DTMF tones are used to communicate with automated systems that require you to type a number such as a code, password, or credit card number.

While your phone can use DTMF tones (touch tones), there is no setting to turn them on or off.

We’re sorry, but disabling DTMF tones is not possible on this phone.

 

Fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing. To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu (Menú) key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamadas).
  4. Tap Fixed dialing number (Marcado fijo).
  5. Tap FDN enabled (FDN habilitado).
  6. Enter the PIN2 code. The default code is 5678.
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

Phone line selection

Volume - Call

 

To raise or lower the volume of the earpiece, press the Volume (Volúmen) key on the right side of the phone up or down during a call.

 

Volume - Ring

 

To raise or lower the ringtone volume, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, press the Volume (Volúmen) key up or down to adjust the volume. -OR- From any Home screen, tap the Menu

key.

  1. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  2. Tap Sound (Sonido).
  3. Tap Volume (Volúmen).
  4. Touch and drag the Ringtone (Tono de timbre) slider to the desired volume level.
  5. Tap OK (Aceptar).

Call timer

Reset timer

 

Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls. Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

To reset call timers, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon.
  2. Tap the Recent (Recientes) icon.
  3. Tap the drop-down Arrow (Flecha)icon at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap one of the following:

 

  • All calls (Todas las llamadas)
  • Missed calls (Llamadas perdidas)
  • Received calls (Llamadas recibidas)
  • Outgoing calls (Llamadas salientes)


  1. Tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Clear List (Borrar lista).

 

View timer

 

Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls. Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

To view call timers, follow these steps:

  4. Tap the following to view call duration for each call:

 

  • All calls (Todas las llamadas)
  • Missed calls (Llamadas perdidas)
  • Received calls (Llamadas recibidas)
  • Outgoing calls (Llamadas salientes)

Call waiting

Turn on / off

 

To turn on or turn off call waiting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Call settings (Config. de llamadas).
  4. Scroll to and tap Additional settings (Configuracion adicional).
  5. Tap the Call waiting check box to select (turn on) (Activar) or clear (turn off) (Desactivar).

 

Use

 

To use call waiting when you hear the tone alerting you to a new incoming call, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Answer (Responder) to answer the new call and place the original call on hold.
  2. To switch between calls, tap Switch calls (Cambiar de llamada).
  3. To join the two calls, tap Merge (Combinar).

Conference calling

Have private conversation

 

To speak privately with one caller in a conference call and put the other callers on hold, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap the contact you want to speak privately.
  2. Tap Switch calls (Cambiar de llamada) to speak privately with the other party.

 

Start conference call

 

Place the first call before using call conferencing. To add additional callers to the conference, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on a call, tap Add call (Agregar).
  2. Enter the phone number or tap the Contacts (Contactos) icon to select a contact.
  3. Tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon to call.
  4. Tap Merge (Combinar).

Voicemail

Call voicemail

 

To retrieve voicemail messages, follow these steps:

 

Using dialing shortcuts

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon.
  2. Tap the Dialer (Teléfono) icon, if necessary.
  3. Touch and hold 1 to access voicemail.

 

Using the phone menu

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts (Contactos) icon.
  2. From the contacts list, tap Voice Mail (Correo de voz).
  3. Tap the green Phone (Teléfono) icon next to the number.

 

Set voicemail number

 

To set the voicemail server number on your phone, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue Contacts (Contactos) icon.
  2. From the contacts list, tap Voice Mail (Correo de voz).
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit (Modificar) Contact.
  5. Enter the voicemail number.
    • Note: The number for voicemail is +1-805-637-7249.

 

Visual Voicemail – access

 

To access Visual Voicemail, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemails (Correos de voz).

 

Visual Voicemail – add contact

 

To add a contact from a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail .
  3. Touch and hold a  voicemail message from the contact you want  to add .
  4. Tap Add to Contacts.
  5. Tap Create new contact or tap the name of an existing contact.
  6. If necessary, tap the account where the new contact will be stored and tap OK.
  7. Enter the contact’s information.
  8. When finished, tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail – change greeting

 

To change the Visual Voicemail greeting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemails (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the Greetings tab.
  4. Tap Record a new greeting (Grabar saludo).
  5. Tap the blue Record (Grabar) icon.
  6. Record your greeting.
  7. Tap the red Stop (Detener) icon when finished.
  8. If desired, tap the Play (Reproducir) icon to review your recording.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Enter a name for your new greeting.
  11. If desired, tap the Mark Default Greeting check box to make this your default voicemail greeting.
  12. Tap Next.

 

Visual Voicemail – change password

 

To change the Visual Voicemail password, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemails (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the Greetings tab.
  4. Tap the Menu key.
  5. Tap Settings (Config. de correo de voz).
  6. Tap Change PIN (Cambiar PIN).
  7. Enter your current PIN. Note: The default PIN is the last  four digits of your  phone number.
  8. Enter your new PIN.
  9. Enter you new PIN again to confirm.
  10. Tap OK.

 

Visual Voicemail – delete voicemail

 

To delete a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Touch and hold the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap Delete (Borrar) icon.
  5. Tap Ok to confirm.

 

Visual Voicemail – listen to new message

 

To listen to a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the message.
  4. Tap the green Play (Reproducir) icon to play the message.

 

Visual Voicemail – reply

 

To reply to a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Touch and hold the message you want to reply to.
  4. Tap Reply (Responder).
  5. Tap to select one of the following options:

 

  • Reply by SMS
  • Call Contact

 

 

Visual Voicemail – save

 

To save a Visual Voicemail message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Touch and hold the message you want to save.
  4. Tap Copy to card (Copiar a tarjeta).
  5. Enter a file name.
  6. Tap Save.

 

Visual Voicemail – set up

 

To set up Visual Voicemail, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Tap Done.

 

Visual Voicemail – synchronize

 

To manually synchronize Visual Voicemail messages (new messages are downloaded and deleted messages are removed), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Voicemails (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Sync Now.

 

Visual Voicemail – turn on / turn off

 

To turn on/off Visual Voicemail, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the Greetings tab.
  4. Tap the Menu key.
  5. Tap Settings (Config. de correo de voz).
  6. Tap the Enable Visual Voicemail check box .
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

Visual Voicemail – roaming – turn on / turn off

 

To turn on or turn off Visual Voicemail roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Visual Voicemail (Correos de voz).
  3. Tap the Greetings tab.
  4. Tap the Menu key.
  5. Tap Settings (Config. de correo de voz).
  6. Tap the International Roaming check box .
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).
