Back up and restore

 

Backup

When you sign into your Google account, new contacts and apps are automatically saved to your Google account.

 

Restore

Sign into you Google account when setting up the device to restore your backed up information.

 

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

Master reset with settings menu

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Privacy.
  5. Tap Factory data reset.
  6. Tap Reset tablet.
  7. Tap Erase everything.

 

Master reset with hardware keys

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. Press and hold the power key and then touch the Power off option on the screen to turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Volume up key.
  4. Without releasing the Volume up key, press and hold the Power key, until the device turns on the configuration screen.
  5. Release the Volume up and Power keys.
  6. Use the volume up or the volume down keys to select the Factory Reset option.
  7. Press the Power key to start the reset process.
  8. Wait for the device to reboot.

 

Memory and SIM cards

 

SIM card

This device supports a mini size SIM card.

  1. Open the SIM and memory card slot cover.
  2. Insert the SIM card, and gently press the card in until it is fully inserted, or else remove the SIM card from the slot.
  3. Close the cover.

Memory card

  1. Open the SIM and memory card slot cover.
  2. Insert the memory card as shown. Press the memory card in until it is fully inserted and you hear a soft click.
  3. Close the SIM and memory card slot cover.

 

Network settings

 

Change band

  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network mode.
  3. Select one of the following:
    • GSM / WCDMA auto
    • WCDMA only (3G/4G)
    • GSM only (2G)

 

Manual network selection

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings > Wireless & networks.
  3. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks.
  4. Tap Network operators > Search networks.
  5. Tap the network you want to use.

 

Turn on/off data roaming

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings > Wireless & networks.
  3. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks.
  4. Tap to select or clear the Data roaming check box.

 

Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings.
  3. If necessary, tap to select the Wi-Fi check box to turn on and view Wi-Fi networks.
  4. Tap the Menu key, then tap Scan.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect.
  6. If security is enabled, enter the key or wireless password.
  7. Tap Connect.
