    Battery - Charge

     

    How to charge the battery

     

    To charge the battery, follow these steps:

     

    Note: If the battery level is below 25%, use the AC adapter instead of a car charger or USB cable.

     

    Charge using a computer

     

    Plug the small end of the USB cable into the Sync Connector on the bottom of your phone. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.

     

    Charge using a wall outlet

     

    Plug the small end of the USB cable into the Sync Connector on the bottom of your phone. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port of the AC adapter. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

    How to insert or remove the battery

     

    To insert or remove the battery, follow these steps:

    1. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the left side of the battery cover and lift the cover off of the phone.

    2. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment. Place the battery flat and do not angle it as you insert it.

    3. Push the battery into place and replace the battery cover.

     

    To remove

     

    1. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the left side of the battery cover and lift the cover off of the phone.

    Battery Manager- Access

     

    How to access the Battery Manager

     

    To access the Battery Manager, follow these steps:

     

    From the notification screen

     

    1. From the Home screen, touch and slide the status bar down.
    2. Tap the Battery or Charging icon.
    3. View the battery state.
    4. If desired, tap to select the check box When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC.

    3. Tap About phone.
    4. Tap Battery.
    5. View the battery state.

    SIM card

     

    How to insert or remove the SIM card

    To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

     

    To insert

     

    1. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the left side of the battery cover and lift the cover off of the phone.

    2. To remove the battery from the phone, pull the tab on the plastic film wrapped over the top of the battery. Remove and discard the plastic film.
    3. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing out of the slot.

    Liquid damage indicator (LDI)

     

    How to find the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI)

     

    Each T-Mobile phone includes an indicator that shows if it has been subjected to water, thereby voiding the warranty. To view the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI), remove the back cover and battery from your phone. Refer to the following illustrations to read the label:

    Status light indicators

     

    What are the status light indicators

     

    Review the following information about the status light indicators:

    • Solid green light: when the phone is connected to the power adapter or a computer and the battery is fully charged
    • Solid amber light: when the battery is being charged.

    Memory

    Set default memory location

     

    How to set the default memory location

     

    To set the default memory location, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, touch and hold the active tab.
    2. Slide left or right to the Photos and Videos tab.
    3. Tap the Camera icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
    4. Tap the on-screen Control icon.
    5. Tap the Settings icon.
    6. Tap Storage until you see a Memory card icon or a Phone icon.
    7. When finished, tap X to return to the camera application.

     

    Task Manager

     

    The Task Manager application shows the free and used memory on the device, and it shuts down running applications to free up memory. To use the Task Manager, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
    2. Tap Task Manager.
    3. Tap the task you wish to end.
    4. Tap End Task.

     

    View phone memory - Phone book

     

    Viewing phone book memory on the phone is not supported

    To view the amount of free memory and used memory on the SIM card, follow these steps:

    1. Attach your device to your computer using the USB cable.
    2. On your device, tap ActiveSync.
    3. Tap Done.
    4. On your computer, in the Microsoft ActiveSync window, click Explore.

    6. Tap Delete.

    To insert or remove a memory card, follow these steps:

     

    1. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the left side of the battery cover and lift the cover off of the phone.

    2. Push the memory card into the memory card slot with the gold contacts facing down toward the screen.

    4. Replace the back cover.
    5. Click the back cover into place.

     

    To remove

     

    Warning: Do not remove the memory card from the phone. You will be unable to use the applications preinstalled on the card.

     

    1. Insert your fingernail into the slot on the left side of the battery cover and lift the cover off of the phone.

    3. Remove the memory card.
    4. Replace the back cover.
    5. Click the back cover into place.

     

    Move files - Card to computer

     

    How to copy files from a memory card to a computer using a USB cable

     

    To copy files from a memory card to a computer using a USB cable, follow these steps:

     

    1. Select settings
    2. Select all Settings
    3. Seletct Connections
    4. Select USB to PC
    5. Select Disk Drive
    6. Press OK
    7. Now plug in to computer and use as mass storage device.
    8. On your device, tap ActiveSync.
    9. On your computer, in the Microsoft ActiveSync window, click Explore.

    11. Double-click Storage card.
    12. Copy and paste a file from the storage card to a folder on your computer. 
        Note: The photos captured from the device camera are located the DCIM folder.
    13. When finished, disconnect the device from your computer.

    To copy files from a memory card to the internal memory, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
    2. Tap File Explorer.
    3. Tap the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the screen.
    4. Tap Storage Card.
    5. Touch and hold the file you wish to move.
    6. Tap Cut.
    7. Tap the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the screen.
    8. Tap My Device.
    9. Navigate to the desired folder on your device.
    10. Touch and hold an empty space on the screen.
    11. Tap Paste.

    4. Tap My Device.
    5. Touch and hold the file you wish to move.
    6. Tap Copy.
    7. Tap the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the screen.
    8. Tap Storage card.
    9. Navigate to the desired folder on your storage card.
    10. Touch and hold an empty space on the screen.
    11. Tap Paste.

     

    If paste is not an option by long pressing on the screen follow the following steps to complete paste:

     

    1. Select Menu.
    2. Select Edit.
    3. Select Paste.

    How to view storage space on a memory card

     

    To view the amount of free and used space on a memory card, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap SD card & Phone storage.
    4. Under SD card, view the amount of free and used storage on the memory card.

     

    USB settings

    How to change the USB connection settings

     

    To change the USB connection settings on the phone, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Other.
    4. Tap USB to PC.
    5. Tap ActiveSync or Disk Drive.
    6. If you tapped Active Sync, tap to select the Enable faster data synchronization check box.
    7. If desired, select the Ask me first about USB connection type when I connect the device to the PC check box.
