Caller ID

Incoming ID

 

How incoming caller ID works and how to turn it on

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phone book, it only displays the caller's number. Incoming caller ID is turned on by default.

 

Outgoing ID - Enable

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.

To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap All People.
  3. Tap the contact that you wish to change.
  4. Tap Edit Contact.
  5. Tap the contact icon at the top of the screen.

Ringer ID - Set

 

How to add or set up ringer caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap All People.
  3. Tap the contact you want to change.
  4. Tap Edit contact.
  5. Touch and slide the screen upward.
  6. Tap the drop-down menu under Ringtone.

How to cancel or turn off all call forwarding

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Phone.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap to clear the Always Forward Call check box.
  7. Tap to clear the Forward all incoming phone calls check box.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. Tap Done.

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate unconditional call forwarding to forward all calls

 

To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the phone to ring.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Phone.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap to select the Always Forward Call check box.
  7. Tap to select the Forward all incoming phone calls check box.

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate conditional call forwarding (no reply, busy, unavailable) and seconds to delay

 

To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Phone.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap one of the following check boxes:
    • Forward call when unanswered
      1. Tap to select the Forward phone calls check box.
      2. Tap one of the following:
        1. Forward call to and then enter the phone number.

        • 5 seconds
        • 10 seconds
        • 15 seconds

How to turn on call forwarding to voicemail

 

To turn on voicemail forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Voicemail forwarding forwards incoming calls to your voicemail so that callers can leave a message.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Phone.
  5. Tap Call forwarding.
  6. Tap to select the Always Forward Call check box.
  7. Tap to select the Forward all incoming phone calls check box.

Advanced phone settings

 

To find more advanced phone options follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Menu.
  4. Tap All Settings.
  5. Tap Personal.

  7. At the bottom of the screen, scroll to the right until you see the Advanced tab.
  8. Select from the follow options:
    • Reject call with text message (Provides option to edit the text message)
    • Add new phone number to People at end of call
    • Vibrate device when call is connected

    • Add home country prefix to phone numbers when roaming internationally

 

DTMF tones

 

How to turn on or turn off DTMF tones (touch tones)

 

Your phone can send a number to the network as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones. DTMF tones are used to communicate with automated systems that require you to type a number such as a code, password, or credit card number. DTMF tones are supported, but there is no option to turn them on or off.

 

Fixed dialing

 

How to disable fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing. To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Phone.
  5. Tap Fixed dialing.
  6. Tap the fixed dialing Off/On button.
  7. Enter the PIN2.  
    Note: The default PIN2 is 5678.
  8. Tap OK.

To speak privately with one caller in a conference call and put the other callers on hold, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on a conference call, tap Menu.
  2. Tap Private.

  5. To join the calls again, tap Conference.
