Battery - Charge

How to charge the battery

 

To charge the battery, follow these steps:

 

Note: If the battery level is below 25%, use the AC adapter instead of a car charger or USB cable.

 

  1. Connect the small end of the charger cable to the USB port on the left side of the phone.
  2. Plug the other end of the charger cable into a wall outlet. If using the USB cable, plug the other end into a USB port on a computer.

    Note: The top of the USB port will glow with a green light while charging.

To insert or remove the battery, follow these steps:

  1. Insert your fingernail in the notch at the base of the phone and pull up to remove the cover.

  2. Push the battery to the right toward the gold contacts in the battery compartment. Then lift the battery up from the notched side of the battery compartment. They may need to use a tool, such as a pen, to lift the battery out of the compartment.

To access the Battery Manager, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Battery Manager.

How to change the Battery Manager profile

 

To change the Battery Manager profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Battery Manager.
  4. Tap Battery Profile.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
  • Performance Mode: Data timeout and auto brightness are turned off. This is the default battery profile.
  • Smart Mode: Data timeout and auto brightness are turned on. This mode allows manual configuration of different data timeout and display brightness settings during peak and off-peak times of the day.
  • Battery Saver Mode: Data timeout and auto brightness are turned on, but are not manually configurable. This setting maximizes battery savings.
  1. If necessary, tap OK.

To set the options for the Battery Manager profile, follow these steps:

 

Note: The below options are only visible when the Smart Mode battery profile is in use.

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Battery Manager.
  4. Tap Battery Profile options.
  5. Tap the following options to edit the settings as desired:
  • Off-Peak hours
    • Start Time
    • End Time
    • Data Timeout
    • Peak hours
      • Data Timeout
      • General Settings
        • Auto Brightness

Note: The below options are only visible when the Smart Mode battery profile is in use.

Review the following information about the Battery Manager profile:

 

The Battery Manager application provides significant battery savings by allowing you to set data traffic timeout and display brightness during peak and off-peak hours of the day.

 

Data Timeout

  • On: After a period of inactivity, background data updates (E-mail, Social Networking, News Feeds, etc.) stop until the phone is used again.
  • Off: Background data updates constantly, even overnight.

Auto Brightness

  • On: When the battery level gets low, the display dims automatically.
  • Off: The display does not dim automatically.

 

SIM card

How to insert or remove the SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

  1. Insert your fingernail in the notch at the base of the phone and pull up to remove the cover.

  2. Push the battery to the right toward the gold contacts in the battery compartment. Then lift the battery up from the notched side of the battery compartment. They may need to use a tool, such as a pen, to lift the battery out of the compartment.

  3. Slide the SIM into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing into the slot.

  4. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the gold contacts in the battery compartment. Snap the battery into place.

  5. Replace the back cover.

To turn BACKTRACK on or off, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap BACKTRACK to turn on or turn off.
  5. If desired, tap BACKTRACK Cursor to turn on or turn off

Note: BACKTRACK Cursor is a cursor used for selection. Activate it by double-tapping on BACKTRACK.

  6. On the computer, the Removable Disk window appears Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Navigate to the file on your memory card that you want to view.
