Answer call

How to answer or receive a call

 

To answer an incoming call, follow these steps:

 

Tap Answer.

If the screen is locked, touch and slide the green bar to the right.

To block calls, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap the contact you wish to block.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Arrow icon to the right of Additional info.
  6. Scroll to and tap to select the Send straight to voicemail check box.

To make a call, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Phone icon.
  2. Tap the numbers to enter a phone number.

  2. Press the number keys to enter a phone number.

Using the phone book

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the blue Contacts icon.

To turn on or turn off mute during a call, follow these steps:

While on a call, tap Mute. The bar under Mute turns green.

 

To unmute

 

While muted, tap Mute to clear the green bar.

To mute the ringtone or incoming call's ring, press the Volume keys on the left side of the phone.

 

 

Speakerphone

How incoming caller ID works

 

Note: Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phone book, it only displays the caller's number.

 

 

Outgoing ID - Enable

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Additional settings.

Outgoing ID - Restrict

How to restrict, turn off, or disable outgoing caller ID

 

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Additional settings.
  5. Tap Caller ID.
  6. Tap Hide number.

 

 

Picture ID - Set

How to add or set up picture caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to change.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Tap the icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
  6. Tap one of the following options:
    • Take photo:
      1. Frame the subject.
      2. Tap Capture.
      3. Tap Done.
      4. Touch and slide the box to the desired position.
      5. Tap Save.
    • Use existing photo:
      1. Tap the desired photo.
      2. Tap All photos.
      3. Touch and slide to the desired photo.
      4. Tap the photo.
      5. Touch and slide the box to the desired position.
      6. Tap Save.
      7. Tap Save.

 

 

Ringer ID - Set

How to add or set up ringer caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to change.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Arrow icon to the right of Additional info.
  6. Scroll to and tap No ringtone specified.
  7. Tap the desired ringtone.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. Tap Save.

 

 

Voice Caller ID - Set

 

To assign a voice caller id to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call Settings.
  4. Tap Other Call Settings.
  5. Tap Caller Id Readout.
  6. Select from one of the following:
    • Ring Only
    • Caller ID then Ring
    • Caller ID Repeat

How to cancel or turn off all call forwarding

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding), follow these steps:

 

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.

  4. Scroll to and tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Tap Disable.

 

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

How to set or activate unconditional call forwarding to forward all calls

 

To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the phone to ring.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Contact icon to select a number from your contact list.
    Note: The number for voicemail forwarding is +18056377243.

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

How to set or activate conditional call forwarding (no reply, busy, unavailable) and seconds to delay

 

To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap a forwarding option:
    • Forward when busy
    • Forward when unanswered
    • Forward when unreachable
  6. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Contact icon to select a number from your contact list.
    Note: The number for voice mail forwarding is +18056377243.
  7. Tap Update.

 

 

Forward calls to voicemail (unconditional forwarding)

How to turn on call forwarding to voicemail

 

To turn on voicemail forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Voicemail forwarding forwards incoming calls to your voicemail so that callers can leave a message.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Scroll to and tap Call forwarding.

DTMF tones

How to turn on or turn off DTMF tones (touch tones)

 

To turn on or turn off DTMF tones, follow these steps:

 

Note: Your phone can send a number to the network as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones. DTMF tones are used to communicate with automated systems that require you to type a number such as a code, password, or credit card number.

 

DTMF tones are on by default. You cannot turn off DTMF tones.

 

 

Fixed dialing

How to disable fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing. To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Fixed dialing number.
  5. Tap FDN enabled.
  6. Enter the PIN2.
    • Note: The default PIN2 is 5678.
  7. Tap OK.

Note: Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
  2. Tap the Call log icon located above the Call icon.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Clear List.
