Battery / SIM

 

Battery - Charge

To charge the battery, follow these steps:

 

Note: If the battery level is below 25%, use the AC adapter instead of a car charger or USB cable.

 

  1. Connect the small end of the charger cable to the USB port on the bottom of the device.
  2. Plug the other end of the charger cable into a wall outlet. If using the USB able, plug the other end into a USB port on a computer.

Battery - Insert / remove

 

To insert or remove the battery, follow these steps:

  1. Slide the device open to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Locate the release tab on the left side of the keyboard.
  3. Pull the release tab back.

  4. Lift and remove the back cover.
  5. Lift and remove the battery.
  6. Replace the back cover, and snap it into place.

 

To remove

 

  1. Slide the device open to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Locate the release tab on the left side of the keyboard.
  3. Pull the release tab back.

  4. Lift and remove the back cover.
  5. Replace the battery so the metal contacts on the battery face the metal contacts in the device.

Battery Manager - Access

 

The battery use screen displays which applications and services are consuming the most battery power. You can touch an application to view battery usage details and change settings. To access the battery use screen, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch and slide the screen up.
  4. Touch About phone.
  5. Touch Battery use.
  6. Touch an application or service to view battery usage details and to change settings.

SIM card – Insert / remove

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

To insert

 

  1. Slide the device open to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Locate the release tab on the left side of the keyboard.
  3. Pull the release tab back.

  5. Lift and remove the battery.
  6. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder.

Button functions

 

To identify buttons and their functions, refer to the following:

Keys

Access

Trackball

  • Scroll to move up, down, left and right.
  • Press to select.

Back key

  • Press to go back to the last screen.
  • Press to close a dialog box or menu.
  • Press to hide the onscreen keyboard.

Home key

  • Press to access the Home screen.
  • Press and hold to view recent applications.

Green Send key

  • Press to access the Call log
  • Enter a phone number and press to make a call.
  • Press and hold to open the voice dialer.

Menu key

  • Press to select from a menu.

Red  End key

  • Press to end call.
  • Press to lock the screen and put the device to  sleep.
  • Press and hold to access the options silent mode, airplane mode, and power  off.

Camera key

  • Press and hold to open the camera application.

Volume keys

  • In idle mode, press + or – to raise or lower the device volume.
  • Note: Ringer volume is controlled separately.
  • On a call, press + or – to raise or lower the call volume.
  • Press and hold – to put the device into silent mode.

Liquid damage indicator (LDI)

 

Each T-Mobile device includes an indicator that shows if it has been subjected to water, thereby voiding the warranty. To view the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI), remove the back cover and battery from your device. Refer to the following illustrations to read the label:

Notification message - View

 

To view a notification message, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, touch and hold the bar at the top of the screen, and slide it down.
  2. Touch the notification message

 

 

Status light indicators

 

How to read the status light indicators

 

There is an LED status light in the speaker that provides notifications. The light indicates the following:

  • Solid green (when connected to power adapter): The battery is fully charged.
  • Solid red (when connected to power adapter): The battery is charging.
  • Flashing red - The battery is low and needs to be charged.
  • Flashing green - There is a new notification.

Note: This list is in the order of priority. This means that if your device is connected to a power adapter, it will be solid red or solid green. It will not flash green to indicate a notification.

Set default memory location

 

Setting the default memory location is not supported

 

All media is saved to the memory card. All applications from Android Marketplace are saved to the device memory.

 

 

View phone memory – Phone book

 

Viewing phone book memory on the device is not supported

Access files - On card using computer

 

How to access files on a memory card from a computer

 

To view files on a memory card from a computer, follow these steps:

 

1.  Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.

2.  From the Home screen, tap the top of the screen and drag down to display    the notifications window.

3.  Tap USB connected.

4.  Tap Mount.

The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.

6.  Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.

7.  When you are done accessing files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.

8.  Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.

9.  Disconnect the device from the computer.

 

 

Access files - On card using phone

 

To view files on a memory card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Application button.
  2. Tap the Gallery icon.
  3. Tap Camera pictures or Camera videos.
  4. Tap the desired file to view it.

 

 

Delete files - On card using computer

 

How to delete files on a memory card from a computer

 

To delete files on a memory card from a computer, follow these steps:

 

1.  Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.

2.  From the Home screen, tap the top of the screen and drag down to display    the notifications window.

3.  Tap USB connected.

4.  Tap Mount.

The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.

6.  Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.

7.  Click the file that you want to delete.

8.  Press the Delete key on the computer keyboard.

To insert or remove a memory card, follow these steps:

  1. Slide the device open to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Locate the memory card cover located below the green Send key.
  3. Pull back on the cover to open it.

  4. Insert the memory card with the gold contacts facing down.
  5. Close the memory card cover.

 

To remove

 

  1. Slide the device open to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Locate the memory card cover located below the green Send key. Pull back on the cover to open it.
  3. Push in the memory card until it releases.
  4. Remove the memory card.
  5. Close the memory card cover.

 

 

Move files - Card to computer

 

How to copy files from a memory card to a computer using a USB cable

 

To copy files from a memory card to a computer using a USB cable, follow these steps:

 

1.  Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.

2.  From the Home screen, tap the top of the screen and drag down to display    the notifications window.

3.  Tap USB connected.

Move files - Card to phone

 

Copying files from a memory card to the device memory is not supported

  4. Tap SD card & device storage.
  5. Under SD card or Internal Device Storage view Available space.
