  6. Tap Enter.

  6. If there are multiple search results, tap the desired search result. The location displays on the map.
  7. Tap the Left or Right arrow to display the next search result on the map.
  8. Tap the result balloon to view the location’s details.
  9. Tap the List  icon in the corner of the screen to return to the search results.

Friends - Add

 

How to add friends to Latitude

 

Add friends to Latitude to share your location with them and request to see their location. Only friends you have invited or accepted can see your location. To add a friend, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Maps icon.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Tap Latitude.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Tap Add friends.
  6. Select or enter the friend’s Gmail address:
    • Select from contacts
      1. Tap Select from Contacts
      2. Tap the desired contact(s).
      3. Tap Add friends
      4. Tap OK.
    • Enter the e-mail address
      1. Tap Add via email address
      2. Tap Type email address.
      3. Enter the e-mail address.
      4. Tap Done
      5. Tap Add friends.

 

Note: When the friend accepts your invitation, you can see their location on the map.

Friend - Remove

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Maps icon.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Tap Latitude.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Tap the friend that you want to remove.
  6. Tap Remove.

How to join and use Latitude

Latitude allows you to share your location with friends and view their locations on a map.  To join Latitude, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Maps icon.
  2. If you see a ‘See your friends on the map’ message, tap OK.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Tap Join Latitude.

To change your photo with Google Latitude, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Maps icon.
  2. Press the Menu key.

  4. Tap your name.
  5. Tap Change your photo.
  6. Tap one of following options:
    • Take a picture
      1. Tap the desired picture.
      2. Touch and slide to move the square.
      3. Touch and slide a side of the square to resize it.
      4. Tap Save
    • Pick from gallery
      1. Frame the subject.
      2. Press the trackball or tap the camera icon to take a picture.
      3. Tap AttachTouch and slide to move the square.
      4. Touch and slide a side of the square to resize it.
      5. Tap Save

Settings – City level sharing

 

How to turn on or turn off city level location sharing with Latitude

 

When you select the city level sharing option for a friend, that friend can only see your photo icon in the middle of your current city. Your icon does not have an arrow beneath it or an accuracy circle in the map view. To turn on and turn off city level sharing for a friend, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Maps icon.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Tap Latitude.
  4. Tap the desired friend.
  5. Tap share only city level location. Your friend can now only see your city location.
  6. To turn off city level sharing, tap Share best available location.

You can hide your current location from all friends or from individual friends at any time. When you hide your location, your friends cannot see your photo icon on the map or your location in their list view. To hide your location from all friends, follow these steps:

How to add a new VPN network

 

The Vitual Private Network (VPN) control panel allows you to configure and connect to VPN networks. To add a new VPN network, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless controls.
  4. Touch VPN settings.
  5. Touch Add VPN.
  6. Touch one of the following:
    • Add PPTP VPN
    • Add L2TP VPN
    • Add L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN
    • Add L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN
  7. Enter the required settings.
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. Touch Save.

Connect to network

 

The Vitual Private Network (VPN) control panel allows you to configure and connect to VPN networks. To add a new VPN network, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.

    You must turn on Wi-Fi to view available HotSpots.
  5. Tap the HotSpot that you want to connect to.

HotSpot - Log in

 

To log in to a T-Mobile HotSpot from your device, follow these steps:

 

Note: Many public HotSpots require a log in. If required, tap Wi-Fi Hotspot Login. This will launch a Web page to log in to the Wi-Fi provider's network.

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
    Note:
    You must turn on Wi-Fi to view HotSpots.
  5. Tap the HotSpot that you want to connect to
  6. If required, enter a key or password.
  7. Tap Connect.

 

 

MAC address – Locate

 

To locate the Wi-Fi MAC address for your device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap About phone.
  5. Tap Status.
  6. Touch and slide the menu upward.
  7. View the Wi-Fi MAC address.

 

 

Networks – add from available

 

To add a new Wi-Fi network from available networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless controls.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings
    Note:
    You must turn on Wi-Fi to view Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Tap the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect to.
  6. If required, enter a key or password.

To manually add a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.

    You must turn on Wi-Fi to add a Wi-Fi network.
  6. Tap the Network SSID field to enter the ID or slide the screen open to use the device keyboard.
  7. Enter the network SSID.
  8. Tap Done.
  9. Tap Security.

11.  If required, enter additional security settings.

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.

    You must turn on Wi-Fi to view Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Press the Menu key.
