Notifications & ringtones: Apple iPhone 8 Plus

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the Apple iPhone 8 Plus.

Emergency alerts

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Notifications.
2. Scroll to the bottom section Government Alerts.
3. Tap the slider to enable or disable the following:
   • AMBER Alerts
   • Emergency Alerts

Incoming email

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Sounds & Haptics > New Mail.
2. Change the Vibration and Alert Tones.
   • To turn off alert, set the Alert Tone to None.

Ringtones

Ringtone for all calls

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
2. Scroll to and tap the desired ringtone.
3. Press the home button at the bottom of the device..

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

1. From the home screen, tap Phone > Contacts.
2. Tap the contact you wish to change.
3. Tap Edit > Ringtone.
4. Tap the desired ringtone.
5. Tap Done.
