Keyboard: Samsung Galaxy Note8

Learn how to customize text entry and default keyboard settings on the Samsung Galaxy Note8.

 

 

 

Change default keyboard

 

Samsung keyboard

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Default keyboard.
  5. Place a check in Samsung keyboard.

 

Virtual keyboard

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Virtual keyboards > Manage keyboards.
  5. Tap ADD KEYBOARDS.
  6. On Google voice typing, move the switch to ON.

 

Enter symbols & numbers

  1. From the alphabet keyboard, tap the Sym key to enter symbols.
  2. Tap the 1/2 for more symbols.
  3. Tap the ABC key to return to the alphabet keyboard.
  4. Tap the Smiley face to insert emoticons.

 

Text entry mode

 

Samsung keyboard

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Virtual keyboard.
  5. Tap Samsung Keyboard.
  6. Tap Predictive text.
  7. Tap the Predictive text Switch to On.
  8. If desired, tap the Auto preplace to On.

 

Virtual keyboard

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Virtual keyboard > Google voice typing.
  5. Tap Offline speech recognition.
  6. View the installed predictive text languages (English is installed by default).

 

Turn on / off haptic (vibration) feedback

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > Sounds and vibration.
  3. Tap Vibration feedback.
  4. Move the slider on Vibration feedback to the ON or OFF position.
