Learn how to save battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Note8.

 

 

 

Battery saving mode

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Device maintenance > Battery.
  4. Under Power saving mode select either MID or MAX. Each option will give an estimate of how much battery life is left.

 

Battery saving mode settings

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Device maintenance > Battery.
  4. Under Power saving mode and adjust the following for MID or MAX:
    • CUSTOMIZE
    • Decrease brightness
    • Screen resolution
    • Speed limiter
    • Background network usage
    • Always On Display
  5. Tap APPLY. The amount of time the battery has left is found in parenthesis after APPLY.
  6. Under App power monitor, select apps from the list and tap SAVE POWER. These apps will be stopped and prevent battery usage when you are not using them.

 

Tips to save battery life

  • Change application sync settings
  • Lower screen brightness and timeout duration
  • Toggle from 4G to 2G
  • Turn off background data
  • Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot
  • Uninstall unused apps
  • Update to the latest software

 

Set device to sleep when unused

Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
