How incoming caller ID works

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in Contacts. When the information is not in Contacts, it only displays the caller's number.

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu  key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

Picture ID - Set

 

How to add or set up picture caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

You can assign picture ID to contacts stored on the phone, but not to those stored on the SIM card. To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Phone  button.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and tap the desired contact.
  4. Tap the Menu  key.
  5. Tap Edit contact.
  6. Tap the contact icon field.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Take photo
      • Frame the subject.
      • Tap the Camera icon to take the photo.
      • Tap RETAKE or OK.
      • If desired, touch and slide the box to adjust image area and scale.
      • When finished, tap Save.
    • Select photo from Gallery
      1. Locate and tap the desired image.
      2. If desired, touch and slide the box to adjust image area and scale.
      3. When finished, tap Save.
  8. Tap Done.

 

Ringer ID - Set

How to cancel or turn off all call forwarding

 

When call forwarding is canceled from the handset, the default voice mail forwarding is activated on the network. In order to cancel all user determined call forwarding settings and revert back to normal conditional voice mail forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu  key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Tap Disable.

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate unconditional call forwarding to forward all calls

 

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the phone to ring. To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu  key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Enter the number you want to use for call forwarding.
  7. Tap Enable.

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them. To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Select from the following options:
    • Forward when busy

How to disable fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing. To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu  key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Fixed Dialing Numbers.
  5. Tap Disable FDN.
  6. Tap the PIN2 field.
  7. Enter the PIN2 code.
    Note: The default PIN2 code is 5678.

T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect. Call timers count in seconds.

To speak privately with one caller in a conference call and put the other callers on hold, follow these steps:

  3. Tap Manage conference call.
  4. Tap the green arrow next to the contact with whom you want to have a private conversation.
  5. Tap Swap calls to change contacts with whom you want to have a private conversation.
  6. Tap Merge calls to resume the conference call.
