Backlight

 

Brightness

 

To raise or lower the screen brightness, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Display (Pantalla).
  4. Tap Brightness (Brillo).
  5. Touch and drag the Slider (Deslizador) to manually adjust screen brightness.
  6. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

 

Duration

 

To increase or decrease the amount of time before the backlight dims, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Display (Pantalla).
  4. Tap Screen timeout (Límite de tiempo de pantalla).
  5. Tap to select from the following options:
    • 15 seconds (15 segundos)
    • 30 seconds (30 segundos)
    • 1 minute (1 minuto)
    • 2 minutes (2 minutos)
    • 10 minutes (10 minutos)

Device login

 

Create and log in to new Google/Gmail account

 

To create and log in to a new Google account, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Accounts & sync (Cuentas y sincronización).
  4. Tap Add account (Agregar contacto).
  5. Tap Google.
  6. Tap Next (Siguiente).
  7. Tap Create (Crear).
  8. Enter your first name, last name, and username.
  9. Tap Next (Siguiente).
  10. Follow the on-screen instructions.

 

 

Log in / out of existing Google/Gmail account

 

To log in to existing Google account, follow these steps:

 

Log in

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Accounts & sync (Cuentas y sincronización).
  4. Tap Add account (Agregar contacto).
  5. Tap Google.
  6. Tap Next (Siguiente).
  7. Tap Sign in (Acceder).
  8. Enter your username and password.

Log out

 

Note: If there is only one Google account set up on the phone, you must perform a master reset to log out of that account, otherwise, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Accounts & sync (Cuentas y sincronización).
  4. Tap the account you want to log out of.
  5. Tap Remove account (Eliminar cuenta).
  6. Tap Remove (Eliminar cuenta).

Network

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

 

Airplane mode turns off the wireless radio. This allows you to use programs while travelling on an airplane, but does not allow you to make or receive calls.

 

To turn on/off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press and hold the Power (Encendido) key.
  2. Tap Airplane mode (Modo avión).

 

OR

 

  1. Tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap to select the Airplane mode (Modo avión) check box to enable or disable.
    • Note: When Airplane mode is active, you will see a red Airplane icon on the Status bar.

 

 

Turn on / off Browser message (WAP Push)

 

WAP push messages (browser messages) allow you to download ringtones, wallpapers, and other content from the Web. WAP Push messages are supported but cannot be turned on or off.

 

 

Change band

 

To change the band selection, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks (Redes móviles).
  5. Tap to select the Use only 2G networks (Utilizar sólo redes 2G) check box.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

 

To turn data roaming on or off, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks (Redes móviles).
  5. Tap to select the Data roaming (Itinerancia de datos) check box to enable or disable data roaming.

 

 

Perform manual network selection

 

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Scroll to and tap Mobile networks (Redes móviles).
  5. Tap Network operators (Operadores de red).
  6. Tap Search networks (Buscar redes).
  7. Tap the network you want to use.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile's calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

Reset

 

Backup files to computer before master reset

 

Note: A master reset will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, images, videos, applications, and contacts stored in the phone's internal memory.

 

To copy files from the phone to a computer using a USB cable, follow these steps:

 

Note: USB storage must be enabled if you want to exchange files between your phone and a computer.

 

  1. Connect a USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
  2. Tap the Status (Estado) bar and drag down to view the Notifications screen.
  3. Tap USB connected (Conexión USB).
  4. Tap Turn on USB storage (Activar almacenamiento USB).
    • Note: Some applications may stop running or may be unavailable until you change the connection type or disconnect from the computer.
  5. Tap OK (Aceptar).
  6. Your phone is now mounted as a disk drive on the computer.
  7. Proceed with the following steps based on the computer's operating system:

 

Windows

 

  1. In the Removable Disk pop-up window, double-click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

  2. Double-click to open the folder on the computer containing the file(s) you want to copy/move.

  1. Copy and paste or drag and drop the files into the desired location on the computer.
  2. When finished, on the computer, close the window showing the phone's disk drive.
  3. On the phone, tap Turn off USB storage (Desactivar almacenamiento USB).
  4. Safely un-mount the phone from the computer by clicking on the Safely Remove Hardware icon located in the system tray in the lower right-hand corner of the computer's desktop.
  5. Disconnect the USB cable.

 

Macintosh

 

  1. Double-click the virtual drive icon that appears on the desktop or open Finder and click the icon.

  2. Open the folder on the computer containing the file(s) you want to copy/move.

Perform master reset

 

A master clear restores the original factory settings and erases any user data stored in the phone's internal memory AND formats the memory card, which erases contacts, messages, music, picture and video files, and downloaded content.

 

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. If the device is responsive, save open files and back up all necessary data to a computer.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  4. Tap Privacy (Privacidad).
  5. Tap Factory data reset (Restaurar datos de fábrica).
  6. Tap the Erase SD card (Formatear tarjeta SD) check box.
  7. Tap Reset phone (Restaurar teléfono).
  8. Tap Erase everything (Borrar todo).

 

 

Perform master clear

 

A master clear deletes all user data from the device, including contacts, messages, and downloaded content. This can help when the device is running low on memory.

 

To perform a master clear, follow these steps:

 

  1. If the device is responsive, save open files and back up all necessary data to a computer.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  4. Tap Privacy (Privacidad).
  5. Tap Factory data reset (Restaurar datos de fábrica).
  6. Tap Reset phone (Restaurar teléfono).
  7. Tap Erase everything (Borrar todo).

 

 

Perform master reset using hardware keys

 

A master reset (factory reset) restores the original factory settings and erases all user data (including settings and downloaded content) stored in the phone's internal memory. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available).

 

Note: If the handset is locked, frozen, or unresponsive, you can perform a master reset using the hardware keys instead of the menu.

 

To perform a master reset using hardware keys, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up all necessary data. See: Preparing for a master reset on Android.
  2. Turn off the phone.
    • Note: If the phone is unresponsive and does not turn off,  remove the battery and then re-insert it.
  3. Simultaneously press and hold the Qwerty F and Qwerty A keys.
  4. While continuing to hold the Qwerty F and Qwerty A keys, add the Volume Down (Volumen Abajo) key.
  5. While holding the Qwerty F, Qwerty A and Volume Down key, press the Power/Lock key.
  6. After you see the LG logo wait at least 10 seconds, then release all of the keys.
  7. The Android Unpacking screen will appear, indicating the master reset is in progress.
  8. The phone will automatically restart and complete the  factory reset.

 

 

 

Perform soft reset

 

A soft reset clears and shuts down all active programs. This can help when the device is running slower than normal or not performing properly.

 

To perform a soft reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Save any open files.
  2. Press and hold the Power (Encendido) key.
  3. Tap Power off (Apagar).
  4. After the device has powered down, press and hold the Power (Encendido) key to restart.

Change - SIM PIN code

 

To change the default SIM PIN code, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can only change the SIM PIN code when the SIM card is locked.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Location & security (Ubicación y seguridad).
  4. Tap Set up SIM/RUIM card lock (Bloqueo de tarjeta SIM/RUIM).
  5. If necessary, tap Lock SIM/RUIM card (Bloquear tarjeta SIM/RUIM) and enter the current SIM PIN then tap OK (Aceptar).
    • Note: The default SIM PIN is 1234.
  6. Tap Change SIM/RUM PIN (Cambiar PIN de tarjeta SIM/RUIM).
  7. Enter the old SIM PIN.
  8. tap OK (Aceptar).
  9. Enter the new SIM PIN.
  10. Tap OK (Aceptar).
  11. Enter the new SIM PIN again.
  12. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

 

Change - Security code - Not supported

Lock - Screen lock

 

Screen lock protects the device from unauthorized use by requiring the user to enter a pattern, PIN, or password.

 

 

Enable

 

To enable screen lock, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Location & security (Ubicación y seguridad).
  4. Tap Set up screen lock (Bloqueo de pantalla).
  5. Select from the following options:
    • None (Ninguno)
    • Pattern (Patrón)
    • PIN
    • Password (Contraseña)
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

 

 

Disable

 

To disable screen lock, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Location & security (Ubicación y seguridad).
  4. Tap Change screen lock (Cambio bloqueo de pantalla).
  5. Enter your current screen lock.
  6. If necessary, tap Continue (Continuar).
  7. Tap None (Ninguno).

 

 

Lock SIM card

 

The SIM PIN code is used to protect the SIM from being used in other devices. When you enable the SIM PIN lock, the device prompts you to enter the code after turning it on.

 

To lock/unlock the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Location & security (Ubicación y seguridad).
  4. Tap Set up SIM/RUIM card lock (Bloqueo de tarjeta SIM/RUIM).
  5. Tap Lock SIM/RUIM card (Bloquear tarjeta SIM/RUIM).
  6. Enter the current SIM PIN. Note: The default SIM PIN is 1234.
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

Unblock - PIN (PUK Code)

 

Related errors:

  • 'PIN code blocked. Enter PUK code:'
  • 'Enter PUK code'

 

If you enter your PIN code incorrectly several times in a row, your phone will lock and you will not be able to use it again until you unlock it with a PIN Unlocking Key (PUK) code from T-Mobile.

 

Important: Entering the wrong PUK code can permanently damage your SIM card.

 

  1. Contact T-Mobile Customer Care to request a PUK code.
  2. On your cell phone, enter the PUK code.
  3. Tap OK (Aceptar).
  4. Enter your new PIN.
  5. Tap OK (Aceptar).
  6. Re-enter your new PIN.
  7. Tap OK (Aceptar).

 

 

Unblock - SIM (Mobile Device unlock)

 

Related errors:

  • 'Enter Special Code'
  • 'Please Wait to Enter Special Code'

 

The Mobile Device unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. To enter the Mobile Device unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message while performing the instructions below. If you enter the incorrect code multiple times, the device locks permanently.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Phone (Teléfono) icon.
  2. Enter *#06# to get your IMEI (International Equipment Identity) number.
    • Write down the number.
  3. Contact T-Mobile Customer Care and request a Mobile Device unlock code. Note: You will be asked to
  4. provide your IMEI.
  5. Turn off your phone and insert a non T-Mobile SIM card.
  6. Turn on your phone. You will see a screen where you can enter the unblock code.
  7. Enter the unblock code.
  8. If necessary, tap OK (Aceptar).
  9. If the process is NOT successful, verify your IMEI before proceeding.

Time and date

 

Alarm clock - Set

 

To set the alarm clock, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Tap Alarm/Clock (Alarmas).
  3. Tap the Alarm (Alarma) tab, if necessary.
  4. Tap New alarm (Nueva alarma).
  5. Tap Plus (Más) plus.gif or Minus (Menos) minus.gif to scroll to the desired time.
  6. Tap Set (Establecer).
  7. Change the alarm settings as desired.
  8. Tap Save (Guardar).

 

 

Auto-update (NITZ)

 

Automatic update of time and date (NITZ) checks for the correct time while the device turns on.

 

Note: When you enter a different time zone and turn on your device, it automatically updates to the new time. This feature is network-dependent and may not be available in all areas.

 

To enable or disable Auto-update, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Date & time (Fecha y hora).
  4. Tap the Automatic (Automático) check box to enable or disable auto update.

 

 

Time / date - Set

 

To set the time and date, follow these steps:

 

 

Date
